Alpha modding, what help will we get?

Hey, complete newb to modding here, in the tutorial it mentions 3ds max, but specifically the 2010 version, do later ones like the student 2013 work ok for arma 3 mods? or does it have to be 2010 version?

I would say yes 3ds is great for modeling for arma 2/3 i have both 2013 and 2012 but i have to admit 2012 is better for modeling! But that is just my openion it is a better layout than 2013

Thanks for the advice smoke and astast, i'll give 2012 a look over as well before deciding then.
