Wanting player controlled Civilians, to become side opfor, when close to bluefor

Recommended Posts

I've done quite some googling and I keep coming out empty handed. I am a complete scripting nublet. I have an insurgent mission with most of us as OPFOR, and 2 player controlled civilians. Right now, the civilians can just waltz right up to an enemy base, plant an IED and just waltz out of there. What I would like to do, is attach a trigger to the player controlled civilians, so that when they get 50 to 100 meters from Bluefor, they turn hostile. That would prevent the game breaking part of them waltzing up and barfing IED's all over their base. How would I go about doing this? Also, would the trigger reattach to them after re-spawn?

I don't think you can switch side at will or within a game. You can place a opfor unit down and sync it to the civilian unit and set presents to zero this will make the civilian unit on the opfor side for the mission. You can also go into the mission sqf and change the side there.

You could group them at start to an enemy side (west) as bird was describing and then use setCaptive on & off
