NEED HELP just downloaded and new

Everytime i try joining any game i get modified data and it auto kicks me i just downloaded and have nothing else downloaded for it.

Do you have the Steam distribution? If so, have you tried verifying your local game content?

Otherwise, which distribution do you have and in what order did you install the game and patches?

Yes i have the steam distribution.

He means Verify integrity of game cache.

go to library on steam, and locate your game, right click it go to properties at the bottom, and then at the top, look for the local files tab.

Click the button at the bottom of the tab it says "Verify integrity of game cache"

then wait for it, when its done try joining a server again.

What version did you buy? Vanilla Arma 2? Arma 2 Combined Operations? If Combined Ops, how are you launching? What servers are you trying to join?

At the very least, you are trying to join servers that are running either a different version of the game than yours, or mods you do not have.

Nah, if OA was missing or CO was not loading properly he would be getting an error about missing content. "Modified data" usually means all content is present but one or more files are borked.
