Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted July 2, 2002 About gore This reminds me that I downloaded a patch yesterday which upgrades my silly german version of Soldiers of Fortune II to the original american version (banned in germany). Consequence => I had all the gore effects available. And I must say that was disgusting. I mean some blood like in OFP tells you when the soldier is hit, where he is hit a.s.o But now I had people jumping around crying with blown off heads (brain on the wall) and with legs or arms, Some are even jumping around holding their balls ( only if you hit them there ). Apart from that can you cut the dead bodlies into pieces and there are at least 8 different pieces you can cut out of a head. I know that sounds spectacular but I wasnt so turned on by that. Seriously! To me that somehow appeared disgusting and took my fun away. I took that patch off! I wonder what the moderators would say if I would post some screenshots! No pictures of dead people/animals allowed! And that screenshots would really look ugly
Tex -USMC- 0 Posted July 2, 2002 Seen Hannibal? "Smells good... whats in it?" "Never ask, it spoils the surprise..." Most disgusting scene ever in a movie
SKULLS_Viper 0 Posted July 2, 2002 heh that games rated T so i bet theres only going to be a little hole where you shot the guy.Nothing special. Heh i like the SOFII demo.I loved when you shot the guy in the head with a shotgun, it totally blows up, and arms get blown off, legs, and if you shot them with a small cal weapon, you can see there brain, and take parts off there head.Uterlly disgusting.I think that games deserves a A rating. Not to mension, blood, splatters on walls, etc... Im going to download that game Americas army, and check it out.Its worth a try.

Id think that having a realistic army game would put ppl off joinging like "enemy 2'oclock" "wtf, where" "oh no 5 is down" in the army u only get one life
EveronVetsAgainstTheWar 1 Posted July 2, 2002 I absolutely loved the gore in SOF2. I wish all games were like that.
Guest Posted July 3, 2002 Why would the government put spyware in the game? It's funding comes from American tax dollars. And once the moronic 12-14 year old ex-CS players quit the game, I think it might be quite good.
MDRZulu 0 Posted July 3, 2002 On the videos the animations and tactics look reasonably realistic but it doesnt mean all the cs players will use the game like that. No shitting either they are all cs players look at their sigs with the stupid arab cs terrorist guy. CS could also be played realisticly to a certain extent but look how those little bastards play it. Same with how Ive seen some CS players play ofp online, they just make it so stupid that its silly ie. I think it was houdan on malden I have seen a stupid cs player go just about everywhere where there wasnt cover all by himself on his way to the town and when he got shot he whined and said cs is better. So no matter how good americas army is those little shits will find a way to ruin it especially if they are already building up for the release. And I cant say how angry it makes me when I hear ignorant people who think they are gonna be rangers or pilots etc. There are stupid girls at my school with horrible vision wearing glasses who say they are gonna be a fighter pilots... ahhhhhhh I cant stand it those little cs bastards are no different. SKULLS_Viper 0 Posted July 3, 2002 mmmm games influence kids.Like they get a cool army game, then they want to join the army, cause it looks so fun, like in the game. But the'll find out the hard way. If they wana join the army, it should be out of the heart, knowing they want to protect there country.Thats the reason i want to join, and drive tanks. Not for fun.But to help my country. EveronVetsAgainstTheWar 1 Posted July 3, 2002 I mostly want to kill things. And the military lifestyle really appeals to me, bases, the people, etc. And sure protect my country.
Tex -USMC- 0 Posted July 3, 2002 And to drive a 60 ton tank as fast as it will go. Because other wise the terrorists win. lol

If i was that age again, these videos would certainly appeal more to me than a video game if i´d consider to join the armed forces.
timmy 0 Posted July 3, 2002 this off the home page of the site- "The ‘Recon’ version should keep you occupied until the complete America’s Army suite is available later this summer. But this is only the beginning, troops! In the upcoming weeks, you’ll get to try your hands at completing Sniper School – or better yet, U.S. Army Airborne School! How about Ranger School?" [sarcasm]sweet i wanna go to ranger school, i could be just like sargent eversmen in black hawk down, sweet.[/sarcasm] One kid on that site, said he was 12, and wondering if he could join the rangers early, if he had outstanding stats in this game. poor kid one guy in that thread responded- go play operation flashpoint you little small balled brat" at least some people have some common since in that forum

Tex -USMC- 0 Posted July 3, 2002 I dont know why army advertisers always do the duty, honor thing in their ads. Their ads should go like this to get more recruits: Jump out of airplanes... Shoot lots of ammo... Blow shit up... Get your own assault rifle... And a bad ass uniform! *All the while flashing videos of cool shit like explosions, para drops, firefights, and artillery* I guarantee you their enlistment rates will double. Satchel 0 Posted July 3, 2002 There was also someone, obviously ex- or current US Army, posting about casual duty on the forum. He was pointing towards what 11b wrote above. The kids replying to his thread either failed to understand the message completely and were wondering what he was saying, or called him pissed...seems the army game is working already before it´s even released.... I wouldn´t want to be an employee of an recruiting office if i had to get everything straight to the half wit´s coming with screwed fictional perceptions, a video game perverted about actual soldering...
