Placebo 29 Posted July 1, 2002 It's a combination of a few factors, your computer configuration, your internet connection, the quality of your ISP, the distance of servers you're connecting to, the speed of the servers you're connecting to, things like that. henryhill 0 Posted July 1, 2002 Yeah it really depends on your ISP but if your on 56k your in the outfield as far as aquireing a respectable ping. But if your on Cable or Dsl Then you should have a moderatly good ping. If your connecting THrough Gamespy your best bet is to stay near the Green Rooms towards the top of list and make sure you refresh every so often when looking for a room. Your Ping versus Room HOST This is the time that it takes information to go, to and from Host pc....
suchey 0 Posted July 2, 2002 Your best bet is to get off dial up and pick up some high speed access such as DSL or Cable...multiplayer gaming has really outgrown the 56k connections...Im not saying its impossible to use a modem to play...just that its going to be alot more difficult...and its just going to get worse as time goes on...for the time being...here are a couple sites you can check out that may or may not help you. http://www.56k.com/trouble/ http://808hi.com/56k/tshoot.asp
