l mandrake 9 Posted August 22, 2012 This long-standing problem seems to be getting worse, yet nobody seems to talk about it, makes me wonder if I'm the only one suffering? (surely not) Could this be somehow related to my hardware (Radeon card) or does everyone else also experience these 'orange outs' to the same degree? Makes the game virtually unplayable... -=seany=- 5 Posted August 22, 2012 When this was reported ages ago I think it was fixed by some thing the mission makers changed in their code. It used to happen all the time in Domination, but Xeno changed some thing in the missions to stop it happening. In other words I don't think it was anything BIS fixed. I think it is caused by joining a game in progress that has destroyed vehicle wrecks, the fire from one vehicle take up the whole view from large distances away. Very basic and some what vague description I know, but I'm sure the ones in-the-know will be along to better explain. :)
l mandrake 9 Posted August 23, 2012 Thanks for the info Seany, I was away from ArmA for quite a while so missed this whole issue it seems. I posted in the Insurgency mission thread asking the authors if they could add a script to remove burning vehicles quickly, not that I even know if that would solve it. In any case, it seems to be a long-standing, game-breaking engine bug that needs fixing by BIS, unless I'm missing something here?

If you JIP and there's a vehicle on fire, you will often see this.
