Unable to play single player OA

Recommended Posts

Unfortunately I'm unable to play single player OA after having installed DayZ.

I have tried:

1.Launching only the arma2oa.exe.

2.Launching only the shortcut:

Target: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -nosplash

Start In: "c:\program files (x86)\steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead"

3. Rename @DayZ folder

4. Delete @DayZ folder

5. Disabling DayZ expansion from inside the game.

I believe a recent beta patch disabled the single player option - regardless of anything!

This is tragic to me because I can't play OA or CO. In other news, my Arma 2 red harvest campaign is stalled because when the heli transport becomes available once more after use, the game hangs entirely - so I thought to try OA or CO, but no luck there.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have today's most recent beta patch installed: 96061.

Thanks for trying to help. Unfortunately it is guaranteed that I have no DayZ files, since the only folder to contain any DayZ files is the @DayZ folder.

I'm still itching to play, but unable to do so.. maybe Bohemia could refund me...

"C:\ArmA 2\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -nosplash -mod=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion

Did you rewrite it by hand in your post, or was that copy paste? if so, correct the bold part and it might work

Get informed before posting. The -beta parameter was introduced to unlink betas from mods. So you can load beta and still enable/disable mods from the ingame expansions menu. Before the method with loading betas with the -mod parameter broke this.

sorry for that, didn't noticed yet.

Another question regarding your first step, launching the arma2oa.exe:

did you launch the exe from the beta folder like

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe"

or

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\arma2oa.exe"?

I'm using the retail version rather than steam but have the same issue. but ended up with the work around of you have to load a mod, without a mod it automatically loads DayZ and disables single player mode.

I started with a beta load that works:

"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -mod=@CBA_A2;@CBA_OA;@CBA;@I44;Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -winxp -nosplash -noFilePatching -showScriptErrors -cpucount=2 -maxmem=2047 -world=none -exThreads=7 This runs fine with no issues.

I stripped out the mod and added -beta to see if I could load the game with single player enabled and:

"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -beta=Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -winxp -nosplash -noFilePatching -showScriptErrors -cpucount=2 -maxmem=2047 -world=none -exThreads=7

My above startup loads DayZ and disables single player

When I remove the -beta and put in -mod= pretty much any mod it will load beta with that mod instead of DayZ

"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\Expansion\beta\arma2oa.exe" -mod=@horse;Expansion\beta;Expansion\beta\Expansion -winxp -nosplash -cpucount=2 -maxmem=2047 -world=none -exThreads=7

seems any @ACE, @I44 or other mod (I used the one that lets you ride a horse to test) is enough to add the single player option back, but just playing the beta of the game without a mod isn't currently an option for me either as it automatically loads DayZ and disables single player otherwise. So go download a mod that doesn't really do any changes...add to your start up and you should get the single player option back so you can play the game.
