Taylor422 1 Posted August 11, 2012 I looked through a few pages of the User Missions section of the forum and didn't see what I was looking for. I'm trying to find something sort of like the in game Armory (you can choose any weapon/vehicle) and then you can go to a target range and practice using it. The Armory is sort of okay for this, but the missions it assigns to you are lack-luster and you can't really use them to develop skill/marksmanship ability with a weapon. Essentially a training scenario. Even something like the shooting range the campaign uses to train you, but you can choose a weapon. I apologize if this has been brought up before. I did some poking through and didn't see what I was looking for. Thanks, Taylor.
roguetrooper 2 Posted August 11, 2012 You could build your own training scenario with the editor within 60 seconds. Neither DayZ nor the included campaigns are Arma's main feature. Arma's main feature (99%) is the editor...
chortles 263 Posted August 11, 2012 He's looking for an already-built user-made mission, I believe, so I will help him with Kronzky's Movable Target Range.
Taylor422 1 Posted August 11, 2012 (edited) You could build your own training scenario with the editor within 60 seconds. Neither DayZ nor the included campaigns are Arma's main feature. Arma's main feature (99%) is the editor... I'm not at all familiar with the editor. It would take me far longer than 60 seconds to learn how to use it. Furthermore, I am well aware ArmA's main feature is its user generated content, both single- and mutli-player, which is why I assumed something like this already existed. Lo and behold, it does! (thanks Chortles!) Finally, I didn't mention anything about DayZ. Not every new registration to these forums is a brain dead zombie killing wannabe whose sole intention is to spite you with their very existence. With that said, I've played both Combined Operations and the DayZ mod, and they both have their merits. You might climb off your pedestal long enough to realize that I'm not here to soil, rape, and pillage your virgin multiplayer experience with my filthy DayZ tainted hands. He's looking for an already-built user-made mission, I believe, so I will help him with Kronzky's Movable Target Range. Thank you very much for the helpful response and the lack of condescension the previous poster was unable to muster. I believe this is exactly what I'm looking for. kylania 568 Posted August 11, 2012 You should really give the editor a shot once you're finished with Kronzky's amazing mission. It's incredibly indepth but very simply to get into quickly. There's a lot you can do with just simple commands. Here's a video from BIS showing some of the editor basics: If you're ready to jump into learning more head over to the Editing & Scripting forums, search around a bit and ask questions as you come across things that you want to know more about. Joe98 92 Posted August 12, 2012 I have Operation Arrowhead, BAF and PMC Amonge them there are a number of "missions". They are a showcase for the various weapons of each faction. There are: USA Takistan Insurgents BAF PMC Civialians In each case all the weapons, vehicles and aircraft for that faction are parked and ready for use. And in every case a firing range is set up with targets so you can practise. If you study every ammo box you should be able to locate a range finder which helps in practise. . . Taylor422 1 Posted August 12, 2012 I have Combined Operations. I'll see if I can't find the USA showcase. Thanks for tip!

BasileyOne 10 Posted August 12, 2012 yeah, thats my FAVORITE part of Arma2 - armory. dynamically, player-aware sandbox. some projects altered it one way, some on different. basically i prefer sides, that BE WF take and reject some DayZ decisions for reference/comparison. summary: its still lagging years before CE SDK in that terms.
