Darkhawk 0 Posted June 24, 2002 If the Mods/Add-on's are for sale and they used O2 to create them; then it is illegal for them sell them.
InqWiper 0 Posted June 24, 2002 I doubt that they will pay taxes for the money they earn...
Major Fubar 0 Posted June 24, 2002 AFAIK it is totally illegal for people to sell 3rd party mods for OFP without explicit permission from BIS...

They offer Mods for different games. It is a company Ltd, so sure they pay taxes. Or do you mean the part for the developers? It is legal, otherwise BI or CM would districted it. Renagade 0 Posted June 25, 2002 Why shouldnt ppl be able to sell whhat theyve created maybe not in OFPs case cause u have to use their tools but that really isnt the point Take the new map editor for half-life,Hammer or so its called,if u look at the license agreement it says u cant sell ur maps which im quite sure wasnt mentioned in the previous versions which were called worldcraft though if u make a mod u can release it as a standdalone version and give valve set percentage of profits. Funny thing is that half-life wouldnt have been anywhere near as popular without the mod and mapper types so i guess valve is trying to have its cake and eat it Even worse is the editor and conditions for making maps for thief 2, it says if u release a map to the general public the makers of thief 2 can take ur map and use it for commercial purposes without ur permission.
