Glass problem

Recommended Posts

I made an vehicle model with texture etc...

But problem is in glass, i tried and BIS texture for glass but always same.

In Buldozer i can see normal through glass, but when I binazire vehicle model then in game glass is not transparent and i can't see through. It's only happen when I binarize model.

I have alpha channel, i even try with BIS textures for glass from Kamaz model, same for RVMATs but always same problem.

Are you using binPBO to binarize the addon?

If you are it might be worth opening it up and clicking on the "options" button in the bottom right. At the top of that there is a "List of files to copy directly" box with a load of file extensions in, it should look something like this:

*.pac;*.paa;*.rtm;*.sqf;*.sqs;*.bikb;*.fsm;*.wss;*.ogg;*.wav;*.fxy;*.csv;*.html;*.lip;*.txt;*.wrp;*.bisurf

Try adding RVMAT to the list so that it looks like this:

*.pac;*.paa;*.rtm;*.sqf;*.sqs;*.bikb;*.fsm;*.wss;*.ogg;*.wav;*.fxy;*.csv;*.html;*.lip;*.txt;*.wrp;*.bisurf;*.rvmat

In bold is the added part, by doing this, binPBO won't binarize the RVMATs leaving them as they were. If it is fine before you normally binarize then hopefully if all it does if copy over the RVMATs they should be fine afterwords too :)

Hope that helps.

Are you sure the texture you are using is using the correct _ca tag?

Something like:

myGlassTexture_ca.paa

I've a problem to. I use a glass_ca.paa (is this _ca important?). And a glass_reflektion.rvmat (it was an bundle as download) I changed the folder, everthing was fine. At the beginning, it was working. But now

a) Buldozer show me a nice glass

b) in game, i see the triangles and squares, when i move me car. If the sun shining into the glass, then it's looks ugly.

I disable me shadow lod, the problem was notfixed. I revmoved all faces and did it new, same one.

Sharp egdes, trinagulate (all versions) , problem is still there. :(

BTW: I did it by the same why. IDK why, i worked arround because destroyable wheels. So had binarized the model sometimes. Now, the outside is working perfect, the innerside is what i post.

either 2 thoughts;

-You need to stretch the glass texture across the full width of the windscreen, not part of it so it ends up "looping" and you see the edges of the texture.

- All glass faces must be smooth (I key), not sharp edged.

Thx Gnat.

It's working now. But it was little bit strange. There was something wrong in the "memory".

There was crazy white lines in the window. Some faces was empty and some other one was grey.

I had to degenerate all faces. Place them new. Same crazy effect.

Backroundmapping with another *.paa. And then i had to set the glass texture and the *.rvmat new. After that, all windows working correct.
