Matthewkunx 3 Posted June 17, 2012 Since I did not see a thread for international or Canadian I will take it opon myself to start a Canadian Politics Thread (Unless someone ends up starting a North American Politics or International politics thread. If this is breaking any rules feel free to close it. Quoting Placebo from the USA Politics Thread: The standard rules apply but you should especially take note of the no flaming/flame baiting rules, when discussing politics it is very easy to get caught up in the passion of the subject and allow passion to become outright arguing (flaming) or to antagonise other people because you don't agree with them (flame baiting), if you see someone flaming/flame baiting do not respond in kind, report the post to a moderator and the incident will be dealt with by us.Allowing this thread to develop into flaming/flame baiting through participation of such actions risks the future of political debate on these forums so everyone has a responsibility to work together to keep the debates mature, articulate, polite and courteous. I will start off. What is your thoughts on Canada's move to purchase the F-35 Stealth Fighter Jet? Why don't we start creating our own aircraft like we tried (and succeeded in doing) in what...the 50's when we created the Avro.

Canada has 13 provinces :P and looooooots of cities and shiz so GOOOD LUCK lol. Anyways lets get on topic. Wouldn't be more cost effective if we spent the time to create our own aircraft? jblackrupert 14 Posted June 18, 2012 Canada for me is weird lol, two parts of country one speaks English and one French, now tell me which is ur national language :-| French is just Quebec and even the majority of that speaks english. The ones that don't speak or even know english are tiny minority in small little towns. Outside of Quebec the only French you're going to hear is the French and English greeting you get at the desk of a Goverment office or maybe Question period of Parliament being shown on TV. French is no longer required learning in schools. Hasn't been for a long time.

I've actually had tourists from New York ask me on the street in Toronto "Why isn't it snowing?" and "Where do we see the polar bears?". That was in the middle of August. You silly Americans think it starts snowing when you cross the border....

GRS 10 Posted June 19, 2012 (edited) Oh look, unwarranted and stereotypical anti-American talk on the BIS forums, how unusual. Not like your tourist story sounds very credible in the first place. Need I tell tales of all the Canadians that come down here on weekends to shop and act like arrogant complete ***holes the whole time, expecting to be waited on hand and foot? Everyone in this area dreads the weekends. Seriously, I though we were supposed to be the "arrogant idiots". Why can't we have a thread here without this crap? I'll probably get responded to in a predictable manner to which I reply: if you can't take it, don't deal it. I don't mean to get heated but man does this kind of crap anger me.
