Replacing clientside files

Couldnt find anything like this so sorry if this is a repeat post. The ones I did find were not answered.

Ive got the Special Forces Multicam guys downloaded, Id like to replace my default delta guys so I see the multicam ones in game. First, is this possible. Second, if so, how?

I installed the mod but they are just that, a mod. My goal is to make it so when I use these guys on a public server without the mod, I see them while everyone else sees the regular guys.

I don't think that's what I need. I just want to change my(clientside) delta team units without them being a mod.

He basically wants to know how to make the New Delta Force guys stay, where the old ones go. So when he jumps on a server he can see the new rangers while the old ones are being viewed by the people that are not running that MOD.

You'd have to alter the addon so that it applies the textures universally kinda of like a gameplay type mod,

Idk, but I suggest maybe contacting the author of the addon.

If the mission was your making as in a coop mission to run on a server you could

alter the classnames of the mission itself in the sqm while you run the mod on your end.

in other words you can have someone script it so that you can run the mod have 2 lines like:

when user" Firefox88" connects load Special Forces Multicam classnames, (names listed)

then another code for all others joining, load run default or vanilla soldiers (classnames)

of course this is not actual code.

for a public server, any public server, as I said you'll need the addon to be scripted so that it applies the changes to the units in a different way,

also as suggested contact the author of the addon, surely he could do this.

Well your in the right forum for what I suggested.

Basically you run the mod but the configs will need to be adjusted to make it so that it applies globally

if Im using the correct terminology.

you'll need to extract the pbo files for that addon and post the configs and whatever files in there.

Im concerned that it should be ok as long as you dont redistribute the addon as your own or rather anyone else would you get in trouble here.

But my suggestion is to get a hold of the author, send him a pm on the forums here, and then post the configs and such and see how you can

make a script so that the textures are applied to reg soldiers.

another problem poses

that this addon are basically model, so it may not work, idk.

So you're basically after a replacement config? Something that will replace the default units with ones you have downloaded?
