all these dlc and mods is baffling me

Tonight i have bought arma 2 original game,arma 2 OA.now when i go to multiplayer serverlist all the servers have red X next to them.

I assume i dont have the right mod or something.but when reading closely I can see that all of them are running BAF and PMC dlc.

So i thought 'maybe these are mods' but when i go to check them out it appears they are actually more things i have to pay for.

How much money do i have to shell out to play this game?.

Or am i missing something?

Not all servers will force anyone to run BAF and PMC, only some might

I'd suggest what you havent done is PATCH

Check your version (usually on screen once you start the game) vs the version its asking for in the Multiplayer Server list ingame.

Patching is good ..... gets rid of a lot of bugs too.

yes my mistake that was the problem.

I guess i just assumed that he game would auto patch to the latest version.

I think the recent patches should have the DLC light versions, so you can still play the online missions but with reduced quality content for the stuff you didn't pay for.

yes i noticed the low quality textures etc.

Was definetly worth spending the money on this game thankfully.

Next week i will get the full dlcs BAF and PMC to fully enjoy it.

Haha Ive been there before too ,not with arma but with other games.

Sometimes a game will just grab me so much that i will be so engrossed and not want to sleep or even stop to eat.

Ive had A2/OA for some time now but I tried the mp for the first time today, and I was baffled. It was awesome and I loved it(a few things I did wrong though like missing enemy tanks infront of me and so on(dont ask)) :p
