C.Van.z6i 0 Posted June 15, 2002 When i play multiplayer, it runs fine for the first one or two games, then all of a sudden i get a major fps lag problem. My computer more than meets requirements, i put my resolution to 800x600x16, it helped a little but it still happens. I don't understand why it is happening to me! -If anyone has an idea please reply
Hilandor 1 Posted June 16, 2002 i have had similar trouble, after two or three games i could harldy control the mouse cursor to get out the game. I just increased my refresh rate in game and what a difference might be worth a try
C.Van.z6i 0 Posted June 16, 2002 Ok but how would you go about increasing your refresh rate?
C.Van.z6i 0 Posted June 16, 2002 never mind i found out how
LBGS_Stewart 0 Posted June 16, 2002 I have a Radeon 64mb ddr VIVO video card and this probly gose the same for you but the radeon video card proforms better on the 32 bit end color depth then the 16.
C.Van.z6i 0 Posted June 17, 2002 When i had it on 32 it did the same exact thing, noting seems to work, i put fps rate all the way and it still wont work

LBGS_Stewart 0 Posted June 18, 2002 a P3 at 729.4 sounds like it has been over clock if this being so have you over clocked your ATI card some studies showed if you over clocked the card it runs worse sence the core clock speed and the ram clock speed are in sync over clocking this two would cause it to be out of sync also you might wanna get the latest drivers Here after downloading in order to installe them deleat the pervious drivers and then restart and then run the instilation of the new drivers newest update for the drivers for mine was the 13 of this mounth. good luck it beleave the new drivers will clear this up

C.Van.z6i 0 Posted June 18, 2002 Ya i have no idea what overclocking is. And last time i tried d/l a new driver it didn't recognize it and my screen went blank causing me to work in safe mode for 5 and a half hours fixing it. And the bad part was i d/led the one it told me to d/l. If you would explain what over clocking is and how to fix it id be pleased thanks
LBGS_Stewart 0 Posted June 18, 2002 over clock is when you make the processer run faster then what it is made to. in which causes the processer to become warmer and less stable
C.Van.z6i 0 Posted June 19, 2002 In that case i haven't done anything to my card or my processor to overclock it, thats how it came
Mister Frag 0 Posted June 19, 2002 My guess is that your system is a 733MHz system, which is an official non-overclocked Intel CPU speed. The OFP Preferences program shows an approximation of the actual clockspeed (probably done using timing loops), so it isn't always 100% accurate. If that is where you came up with the 729.4 MHz clockspeed, it would explain the odd number.
