markinoz 1 Posted March 8, 2012 (edited) Hi, Please excuse me if I've posted this in the wrong section (I'm using steam) but I have what appears to be a coding error? ARMA OA and CO + BAF was running fine for ages.. around the time of the last "Steam" 1.6 update I started getting the following error after the boot screen File gd\config.cpp, line 1443: /cfgWeapons/: missing '}' I've deleted the local steam content and have redownload twice and get the same result (I have recently been installing mods CBA SLX etc) but these folders are not in the fresh install location. Any help would be appreciated coz I love playing this game and I havent had much luck finding anything in the troubleshooting threads.. Cheers Mark R Edited March 8, 2012 by markinoz typo
[frl]myke 15 Posted March 8, 2012 gd\config.cpp Points to a non-BIS addon. Check again that no 3rd party addons are loaded at all.
markinoz 1 Posted March 8, 2012 Hi, thanks for your prompt response. I was thinking the same thing... looking at the RPT theres lots of stuff like this: Error updating 'bin\config.bin/CfgWeapons/G36_C_SD_eotech/Burst/' by 'ca\weapons_e\config.bin/cfgWeapons/G36_C_SD_eotech/Burst/', base 'Burst' ErrorMessage: bin\config.bin/CfgWeapons/G36_C_SD_eotech/Burst/: Cannot find base class 'Burst' ===================================================================== == h:\steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\ArmA2OA.exe == "h:\steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead\ArmA2OA.exe" -window ===================================================================== Exe timestamp: 2012/03/07 12:25:10 Current time: 2012/03/08 17:20:24 Version 1.60.87580 ErrorMessage: File gd\config.cpp, line 1443: /cfgWeapons/: Missing '}' looks like Im gonna have to dig around and try to find the culprit... sickboy 14 Posted March 8, 2012 Tried a repair in Steam? (after repair, you should run Steam launcher as admin, and then launch A2 (if you have), and OA , separately at least once) Also if you want to get warned about custom addons in official addons folders, you could try Six Updater; http://www.six-updater.net/p/about.html It warns you at startup and when performing actions, if (and which) any custom addons are found that are not inside modfolders but official addons folders.
