I am sick of people trashing america!

I just get sick of all the people who girpe and complain about America, including American citizens. America is the best country in the world and the nation that has helped almost everybody in some way. Without America WW1,a war in which we didn't belong, and WW2 would have been won by the Germans. America never even was repaied by its Allies,except for Finland and I than them for that. America has doen so much for all kinds of people but its seems that only the bad things get talked about. I admit America has done some bad things, like the bombing of Kosavo, but they have done so much more good than bad. We tried to get food to the people of Afghanistan, tried to help Samalia, gave aid to Europe when they were at war, fight terrisom, and many other things. So why do people trash America? I don't know, and as for those guys down at Camp X-Ray, well they have it a little to good.America should fully support Isreal! Isreal is doing the same thing America is and that is fighting terrisom and that snake Arafat well he is just as bad as Osama Bin Landen.

I think most people dont like the usa kus they watch hollwood movies that are utter crap. They watch these films and base their opinion on the USA afterwards.

Films like Saving Private Ryan and Independance day where the yanx save the day etc and have all the other countries play a minor role pi$$es a lot of people off.

Of course their opinion is based on the crap that hollywood produces so its not going to be a fair opinion.

BTW I have a lot of friends from the USA and I think its a cool place.

Someone just tell me. What'd we do to them to warrant the attack on 9/11?

Its things like that that trouble me. Is it because we're a hell of a lot free'er than them (Because we know we have the right to be, i might add)? Because we try our dammedest to treat everyone equally, and over there women still cant show their faces? I mean dont get me wrong, it sickens me that this is true, but it is: We still live in a day and age when not everyone experiences equallity, and that honestly hurts to think about. But its not exactly like we arent trying. I would love to believe this, at the very least, if it is true.

Someone, just bear with me here. Why do so many nations hate the US?

I am a Canadian. I do not hate americans. I just find the actions of your government are often reprehensible.

Looked at in an innocent sort of way, your government blunders its way around the world in the naive assumption that everyone, everywhere, wants to live like an American. Looked at from a more cynical view, your government will do whatever it wants to forward its own interests regardless of the trouble that it creates.

There is a reason people bash a country that has done a lot of good. Perhaps if there was less whining 'wahhhh, people bach us' and more 'I wonder why people bash us so much' maybe there would be less cause for bashing.

In spite of what you might want to believe not everyone wants to live like or be an american.

You cant judge other nations or people by your own standards. You might find the way someone lives their life to be reprehensible... and sometimes it is. But you have no right to stomp around the globe enforcing american ways of doing things on everyone.

As for 9/11... the 'people' of Afghanistan had nothing to do with that. And the fact you even asked that question in a serious manner really bothers me. Tell ya what...do some reading on Central America and american involvement there since the early 20th century. It's a prime example, in your own back yard, of how American self interest has caused a lot of hatred and pain.

I can understand a lot of this. We have to keep in mind that the US is mostly populated by white people. I dont think we always cast other nations in supporting roles because of racism, we do it because WE are what we're used to. We've grown up, our whole lives, watching ourselves and eachother. We cant deny that out own nationality is what we, ourselves are most used to, and therefor, that is what is in our heads at any given time. I think a lot of this comes out in the movies. No ones to blame for casting the US in the lead role for a US movie.

If you want some answers you only have to look at your own post. When you make statements that are very egotistical and demenstrate a superiority attitude no wonder dislike is brewed by those recieving it.

1. "America is the best country in the world..."

That is basically an insult to every person of every other country in the world, perhaps they like or love the way their country is. One cannot declare the United States as the best country in the world because there is no standard to compare it to.

Without U.S. economic and military force in WW1, the most likely outcome would have been a perpetual stalemate on the western front with the eventual peace treaty leaving much of captured France in German hands. Without the Treaty of Versallies (Spelling?) WW2 as we know it would have been much different. Without economic and military alliance in WW2 Britian would have most likely sucome eventually to German pressure, either into a peace treaty or cease fire of sorts. However you completely overlook the Russia contribution in WW2, which tied up approximately 2/3ds or Germany's military making the landings at Normandy possible and actual advancement into occupied Europe probable.

With that statement you just alienated a great part of the world.You have a great many people that support and believe in the Palestinian cause, and also a great many people that believe and support the Jewish state of Israel. There is no clear cut right and wrong here. It has been the continual support of the state of Israel that has been the greatest factor in all the bad blood in U.S./MiddleEast relations.

Things in life usually have their positives and their negatives which make them equal with their counter-parts.

But the US breaks this rule. The US takes other people's weakness and makes it their positive.

The end result is a very powerful empire.

It's morally wrong, but it's the way of life.

See, the US is very dependant on other countries. It can't survive by itself.

So to prevent itself from crumbling under it's own weight, the US has to conquer other countries and make sure that the US is never short of supplies.

Here is my take on it. America is a very naive place. I'm American and I say this not in a mean or hateful way. Honestly America wants to do good. We try so hard at trying to do good that we overlook a lot of stuff. America is all about dreams. We dream of a great world, with no war, no hunger but we just don't know how to go about doing it correctly. Each country has a growing stage. Every country went through it and made the mistakes America has. Throwing it's weight around and only looking out for it's own interest. Every country in history has. It's part of the growing process. America is still a very young country.

Our founding fathers had no idea their experiment would work let alone thrive. As an American I myself am shocked how well off we are. I think a lot of counties look at us as the young kids on the block. They see us making a lot of the same mistakes they did and are upset that we refuse to listen to them. Kind of like teenagers. England is the country that comes to mind about trying to help us mature a little more. I don't think most people realize the bond that the US and England share.

Sure we give each other a hard time every once in a while but deep down a majority of Americans love England and I can only hope it's the other way around. I personally would fight just as hard for England as I would America.

Some anger I think is also due to jealousy. Nobody likes the little rich kid and yet America is kind of like that. We have so much and many have so little. It's only natural for some to feel angry at that. If they weren't mad at Rome, they were mad at Spain. If not Spain than France, if not France then England. Every world power has went through this and we are no exception. I would feel very angry if my country were constantly used as a pawn on the world stage by world powers. I don't know what its like to walk down the street and see a foreign army base or foreign troops.

A lot of people are mad at us because they don't really know us. They see what's on TV and think we are like that. Every news thing I've ever watched always finds the dumbest person or most ignorant statement and broadcasts that. If I were to watch TV and believe most of what I saw I would say Europe is full of arrogant, Ungrateful, drug addicted hippies. This is not true. I may not understand all the reasons why they hate us but I would invite any of them to spend one week in real America. Not the one on TV but the way I live everyday. You'll see that we are not all dumb, religious fanatics, greedy, and self-serving as they think.

It's ignorance like that, that gets people angry. You actually wonder why people trash Americans with comments like yours ?? ....wow. Contrary to your own popular belief, you are not the 'free-est' country in the world, your freedoms are also shared by the rest of the western world, so get over it. I dont know why you think that people are 'jealous' of the U.S. when we share the same standard of living and the same freedoms you do. You weren't attacked in September because the Al-Qaida was 'jealous' of your 'freedom', it was a result of your bad foreign policy. I wish more Americans would realise that.

You forgot to mention; our cleaner and more expansive natural environment, our lower crime rate, our better food, and our better beer. Combined with the fact that noone hates Canadians, I have never seen people in the middle east burning Canadian flags.

Hey Assault if you do the numbers like I did once. Canada actually has a higher crime rate per capita. Of course the numbers I was using then where from 99 and Canada's crime rate wasn't that much higher per 100k citizens.

I love Canada, been here almost 10 years, and it'll always have a place in my heart. However, I'm mighty sick of the -40 degree celcius windchills in winter, so as soon as I finish college I'm getting myself brain-drained to Miami. I have lots of family there and I'll only be 90 miles from "home" if and when the Castro regime falls.
