Unplayable lag in multiplayer

Hi I spent $1800 on a new gaming system designed for arma2/arma3 multiplayer because I love this game.

Now I don't have low performance because I have a solid 60fps even on the highest settings. So what is my problem? Well both friendly and enemey vehicles and fellow online players move like they have 10 fps. Everything is warping. I can not hit enemy soldiers because they keep warping terribly and so do the enemy vehicles. It makes this game totally unplayable for me. I don't see this on the singleplayer so I have no idea what it is.

Specs i7 2600k, Sapphire HD 7970, 16gb ram and I run the game from a SSD. My download maximum is 30mb on a recent speedtest and 4mb upload so I have a good internet connection as well. I have a genuine copy of Arma2 and patched to the latest version. I don't use wireless internet but internet that is transfered through the wall socket. Could that be it? the only other thing I can think that it is perhaps my monitor , LG D2342Pm but it can handle singleplayer and other demanding games. It has a response time of m5s so should be good enough.

Can anyone help me with this? Im on the brink of giving up the whole Arma series because if 1800 bucks can't make it work what can :confused:

You probably will want to install and use Operation Arrowhead, with v1.60 patch, and try that again, it contains many improvements for MP incl the warping.

But it actually sounds like you have some kind of problem with your internet connection. Are you actually connecting to a server in your region, with a low ping?

If you are, then perhaps it's related to your internet modem/router settings or firmware, or firewall etc software on your PC.

Do you have hyperthreading enabled ? I don't have it on my 2500K but I believe having it enabled on 2600K etc can cause such issues. I guess it would impact SP, but worth checking.

I experienced issues caused by hyperthreading on my oldschool i7, however it would be the same for SP and MP, and no discrimination between local and remote objects.

The op's problem really smells like an issue with connection / server / mission.

Thanks for ur info. Well there was one server today where it was actually bearable. Still bad but playable. Im just gonna try a whole load of tricks from overclocking and tweaking to using gamebooster and more. Might even swap this monitor for a 120hz. I tried disabling MT cj but it did not have much effect. So ill just try it again but with a whole other list of tricks. I just did a speedtest before playing and I get a download of 30mb. So its definitely not my internet connection. Still cannot tell what it is but Ill have to fight this problem untill i can play this game because it is the best game :cool:
