Assign a key to board vehicle/aircraft?

The problem: I am trying to board a helicopter which is hovering low. Because it is moving, the option to board it on the mouse scroll list is constantly disappearing and then reappearing. This means selecting that option is a bit tricky and can cause me to unintentionally check my gear or draw my pistol.

In the controls menu it is possible to assign keys to get out or eject from vehicles/aircraft. There is no such option for boarding. Is it possible to set something up?

Hmm if you are to the side of a vehicle just press the use button (default action) when the targeting reticule changes to a seat symbol, is faster than using the menu. On servers that disable the reticule I have the same issue though, often miss hopping into vehicles because of this. Instead of adding a new key - why not just make it a general "interact" button. I basically have this for many actions right now just by binding multiple "interactions" with one key.

Boarding / Eject Key Bind

Left Shift - Eject a vehicle or enter the first available position of a vehicle within 10 meters.

Your "cursor" needs to be pointing at the vehicle before you press the L-Shift

- Is "instant" boarding good or bad?

- Should it be the normal animated Get In and Get Out ?

- Is the 10 meter thing going to be an issue for larger or smaller vehicles?

- I suspect you can board an enemy vehicle !! Good ? LOL

- Whats a better key or key combination?
