Ferry...?

Recommended Posts

Was thinking that now we can have rivers and lake, why not have a ferry? Since it is dificult do to bridge, it could be an alternate way of geting from one side to the other. If someone would bother to do one, it could be really usefull.

And since that in Resistance, the bus will have is own routine, we could maybe take that but modifie it for a ferry. smile.gif

I heard that the hovercraft (which i called an LCAC) is in the works. The source is quite reliable and breaths a lot of Oxygen....

Hovercraft would not be a bad idea also (good ships for insertion via water). But I was thinking of something civil for transportation that would also be use by military. Like getting on board of a ferry, get out of your vehicule (or stay in) and wait for the ferry to get on the other side of the river.

I would see a mission: you need to escape by getting on the other side of the river by any mean necesary. You got a M113, one or two 5T Truck and a jeep and got to get on the other side of the river. You found an empty ferry, get everyone on it and drive it (or make one of your man to drive it) on the other side of the river while under fire.

This is mostly a suggestion for add-ons makers since I don't think BIS will ever thing of doing one. They don't have put any rivers on any of the present island.....but it could be usefull on Malden between it and the other tiny training island and also the small airport to the north. So BIS could do one....if they want to and if they see something usefull in it....it would give something to those poor civils. smile.gif

to do this someone will have to figure out how to get a vehicle to hold another vehicle w/o useing scritpts, a feat which seems to be elusive

Well, maybe with Oxygen they might be able to do it.

Oxygen isn't a modeling tool. It's a tool that allows you to import models you made with *for example* 3ds Max into OFP.

Shouldnt be a problem. Just make the tank act like a unit in a truck. When the truck/tank is in another vehicle it cannot move or shoot.... Just stand there.
