Chomps 0 Posted June 8, 2002 Please correct me if this is the way soldiers actually carry around such weapons, which I honestly cannot see being so. Why are the LAW/RPG launchers so high when they are on the soldier's back. They stick up past the soldier's head while if they were lowered to just below his waist, they would attach beautifully. I am actually reluctant to use too many in a mission because I find them to be just plain ugly. I suppose the creators just wanted to be able to reuse the animations for all shoulder-fired weapons, so the height of the weapon is probably reliant on what part of it the hands should be holding when the soldier uses it. However, even the AA and heavier AT weapons are higher than they could be. So, three things I ask: Can anyone tell us how weapons like these are carried around, just for my information? Is there anyway that this can be adjusted with a user addon or something? Is this worth bothering to be changed in a patch?
FetishFool 0 Posted June 8, 2002 In real life, LAWs are carried with slings. Or they're packed into a soldier's backpack. Small RPG launchers are carried the same way. Large rocket launchers are carried with both hands.

suchey 0 Posted June 8, 2002 As I understnd it the real LAW launchers are telescopic...in other words...they collapse down to a smaller size for easier carrying...they are also disposable in that they are used once and discarded for the most part...I understand that it is possible to reload them in the field, but that it is something that is very rarely (if ever) done. WOuld be kinda kewl to have an animation for the soldier pulling open the LAW launcher to full size...but its not too bad the way it is now.

BTW, did you use to run Suchey's Skins?
arkadeyevich 0 Posted June 8, 2002 Problem is that if you extend the LAW and then decide not to use it, its a bitch to collapse, some of the versions older than M72 A1 is even impossible to collaps once extended. It takes about 5 seconds to get it ready to fire if you are fast, and a minute and a lot of cursing to get the sling and end covers back on. This is one area where a bit of un-realism world be welcomed. And you would only be able to carry two launchers instead of 3 reloads. // Large rocket launchers are carried with both hands. The Carl Gustav 84mm comes with a (painfull) sling, but gunners usually mount it the frame of a backpack. This is also done with the ERYX missile.
PitViper 0 Posted June 8, 2002 yes, I would like it down further on the back.

Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted June 9, 2002 Yea... and i cant believe the soldiers arent coughing on the battlefield.. EVER?! Especially when using smoke grenades, it should cause them to cough.... A very important thing i might add.

It just looks wierd... like LAW soldiers all have exhaust pipes as if they were trucks. *cough*
