Rusvolk 10 Posted November 25, 2011 Trying to make a battle scenario in the editor with tanks, BTRs, and infantry, and me as a AT soldier myself, dicided to put a squadron of flying Mi-24Vs and then when i preview the textures/paint/color suddenly disappear from Mi-24Vs at a pathetic distance of around 80+ meters and to be give more detail, the entire helicopter simply turns white, ive bought Combined Operations, ArmA 2 came in Version 1.06 and have installed both AO patch 1.59 and A2 patch 1.10, so i would atleast want to know if anyone else has this problem so that i may acknowledge this is just a problem soon to be patched and not just me alone with this wierd problem. P.S: My way of testing this issue is just putting a flying Mi-24, several tank platoons near the heli and me as an infantryman close to the Mi-24, running away from it till the textures disappear. This doesnt happen with any other helicopter. As much as i increasy view distance and graphics settings to a higher level, the problem still persists. ---------- Post added at 08:18 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:16 PM ---------- Trying to make a battle scenario in the editor with tanks, BTRs, and infantry, and me as a AT soldier myself, dicided to put a squadron of flying Mi-24Vs and then when i preview the textures/paint/color suddenly disappear from Mi-24Vs at a pathetic distance of around 80+ meters and to be give more detail, the entire helicopter simply turns white, ive bought Combined Operations, ArmA 2 came in Version 1.06 and have installed both AO patch 1.59 and A2 patch 1.10, so i would atleast want to know if anyone else has this problem so that i may acknowledge this is just a problem soon to be patched and not just me alone with this wierd problem.P.S: My way of testing this issue is just putting a flying Mi-24, several tank platoons near the heli and me as an infantryman close to the Mi-24, running away from it till the textures disappear. [frl]myke 14 Posted November 26, 2011 Did just tried it and at my side i can't reprosuce this problem. So it is not a general problem of A2/OA but maybe something at your side. Did you loaded any mods/addons? What is your Hardware?

Did you loaded any mods/addons? What is your Hardware? Nope i have no mods, and a few weeks ago i reinstalled my game and since then i have loaded no mods except for a Ka-50 addon which ive deleted. My hardware is: Nvidia GeForce 9400 GT Intel Core 2 Quad CPU 2.6 Ghz RAM...probably 4 or 2 GB (at this moment dont have acces to my computer) 140 GB of free space. Windows Vista 32Bit Thats my basic hardware, once i get in control of my computer, ill give more advanced info. I aswell run programs like gamebooster and Windows Vista Service Optimizer turning off all glass effects and anything that appears on the list that can be turned off for best performance. I know my computer isn't that great, but it should run ARMA 2 fine.
maturin 12 Posted November 27, 2011 If you're on Steam, verify your game cache. I've never had this actually fix a problem, but it's your first stop for all glitches.

[frl]myke 14 Posted November 27, 2011 Looking at the specs of the Geforce 9400GT i would think that video memory is full. Maybe reducing texture quality might solve the problem. It also could be that some files are broken but i do know that a complete reinstall is a sh**load of work. Although it is odd that the error only appears on the Mi-24V and on nothing else. The only thing i can say for sure, it isn't a game bug by default (means, nothing needed to patch).

[frl]myke 14 Posted November 30, 2011 @Rusvolk i really don't know what it is, i'm just guessing what could be a possible problem. Your graphic card isn't the fastest at all so it could be a source of the problem. Also it could be that some game files are corrupted. It looks like other people do have the same problem which means either they have a similar graphic card or the graphic card doesn't matter at all. It would be interesting, if a friend could borrow you another graphic card to test and see if the problem still persist or not. As said, all this is only guesswork, trying to help you. But the only thing i'm 100% certain: i don't have the problem at my side so it isn't a general game problem, occuring at everyone. I just tell you what i would try if i were in your situation. Damn, all my friends are Xbox players. Anyways i strongly believe its probably my video card is just outdated, since your computer probably has the lastest graphics card, you dont have the problem. [frl]myke 14 Posted November 30, 2011 Damn, all my friends are Xbox players. You need new friends. :D Anyways i strongly believe its probably my video card is just outdated, since your computer probably has the lastest graphics card, you dont have the problem. I don't have the latest (HD5870 already becomes old) but surely a bit better than your actual. ;) Have you seen the link -=seany=- sent? Yep, saw it. As said, i can only do guesswork: if it was a model bug (untextured LOD as example), the bug would be visible for everyone. Obviously this isn't the case so it has to be something that isn't equal at all players: graphic card would be such a candidate. But i also could be horribly wrong so don't blame me if you get a new Graphic card and the problem still persists. I do my best to guess what is wrong, i'm affraid i can't do more. I've seen it too on some detail level it was the same with some Resistance fighters having no heads at distance.

Allright, thanks for your help Myke, ill do a reinstall to see if the problem gets fixed, but i dont believe so because ive done countless reinstalls due to other reasons but the bug still persisted, but ill give it a last try. And if that doesnt work, its a problem with my hardware and will have to buy a new graphics card.:banghead:
