Comp messed up after installing ofp

Recommended Posts

System specs:

Intel celeron 800Mhz

256Mb ram

Nvidia 2 mx (AGP)

MSI-6337(motherboard)

My problem is that I installed OFP and now my comp will FREEZE whenever I try to run direct 3d apps (even internet explorer crashes from now to then!wink.gif

I looked at the forum of my motherboard provider and it turns out that my motherboard doesnt support AGPx4 but uses it anyway... and I cant alter that in my bios cause its supposed to autodetect wether to use AGPx4 or AGPx2

The ironi of this sit is that before installing OFP the bois idenfied the AGP to x2 and OFP altered to AGPx4 in somehow...

I tried to download every driver and uppdate but nothing...

even tried using modbin6( bios mod util.) and nothing...

Anyone who is willing to help me...

OFP doesn't care about or change the AGP transfer rate. It makes no changes to the BIOS or video settings.

During the installation of OFP, did you opt to install DirectX? What operating system do you have, and what version of the Detonator drivers? Can your system finish the DirectX video diagnostics?

You didn't answer Mister Frag's question. When you installed OFP, did you also select the option to have OFP install DirectX for you?

When a motherboard only supports AGP2x how can it autodetect if it has to use AGP2x or AGP4x ?  confused.gif

And I`ve never heard of a game that changes your internal AGP settings... strange problem... confused.gif

OF does not alter the agp multiplier.

The only problem that I can see might be that you installed DX. WinXP has 8.1. The DX installer on the OF cdrom installs 8.0. You must not (try to) install older versions of DX over a newer one! I suggest you rerun WinXP installation and choose to repair the current installation. This way your problem *should* be fixed and you don't lose any of your data.
