theavonlady 2 Posted June 3, 2002 With shark attacks starting to come in again from Florida to California (the latter a great white), how to you feel about taking a swim?
R. Gerschwarzenge 0 Posted June 3, 2002 I'm glad there are no sharks around where I live. Not even landsharks and such.

InRange 1 Posted June 3, 2002 There's a few harmless kinds of sharks in the North Sea and the occasional tigershark which gets lost. Nothing to worry about.
Hardliner 0 Posted June 3, 2002 I do not worry about sharks. I do not intrude into their living space. I really hate it when they hunt and kill a shark because it attacked a human. The human takes the risk of "sharing" the water with them. Most of the time the shark misinterprites humans on boards for food. In some cases I have seen the shark stopped attacking its victom when it realised what it was attacking. I see it on documentries anyway.

Die Alive 0 Posted June 3, 2002 Did anyone try shark steaks? I don't eat fish too often (other than the tuna fish now and then), but shark steaks are amazing. -=Die Alive=-

Its their living space. humans don't have to be in the water but they choose to be. Their risk. What I was trying to say is that humans are not shark food. Sharks have been in the middle of an attack and then stop once they realise what their attacking. I'v heard of things like this like I said from documentries and shark attack victoms. If some alien race started invading humanities space what would you do?

Satchel 0 Posted June 3, 2002 I don´t worry about sharks either, when making vacation near locations where sharks are known to be present, such as the mediterranean sea. It´s very unlikely to be victim of a serious shark attack, the probability is so vanishing low that it´s unequally likelier to get stroke by a lightning bolt, most shark attacks do happen on fault and after the shark senses that it´s not the prey he was hunting after in his mouth, he will let off. Remember, it´s not the shark coming into our world, we are the intruders and aliens to their world. The deadliest predators ever wandered this earth (humans) are far more dangerous to the shark than it would be the other way around, more than 150 million sharks are crippled and butchered every year for the finning trade. However there are some places on earth where i´d never go out for a swim, such as near Cape Town, South Africa and according seal islands. Here a site about shark attacks. http://www.sharkattacks.com/ The International Shark Attack File (incl. 2001 Worldwide Shark Attack Summary, maps/stats/graphs, how reducing risk of a shark attack etc. ) http://www.flmnh.ufl.edu/fish/Sharks/ISAF/ISAF.htm
