tk1138 10 Posted October 7, 2011 here is something from wikipedia about the mission editor for arma 2 ARMA 2 includes a feature rich mission editor which makes it possible to create user made single player missions or campaigns and multi player missions. Mission editor includes a wizard which makes the creation of basic missions extremely simple. More complex missions can be enhanced with scripting commands. now it speaks of a wizard, yet i have not seen this yet and i have looked, anyone know if this is just Wikipedia giving misinformation, or is this a feature that was removed or cancelled, or if it indeed does exist how does one access this wizard for missions....thanks
purepassion 22 Posted October 7, 2011 Its an help for scripts. You can try it by adding something to the Init field of a unit eg "flyInHeight" etc.. You type "fly" and then the wizard shows you the available scripts Pure

Joe98 92 Posted October 9, 2011 what the F....how could i have overlooked this for so long....omg....wtf this is good stuff here thanks for this!!! This is my fav part of the game. Before you begin the mission, select "edit". This allows you to move the icons that represent the start and ending locations of the mission. Wonderful! -
HR4 Elite 10 Posted October 9, 2011 The main ‘Mission Editor’ is the place to be, the type of missions that can be made are endless.. .
tk1138 10 Posted October 10, 2011 (edited) The main ‘Mission Editor’ is the place to be, the type of missions that can be made are endless.. . yea i found this out myself as well...in the wizard you cant even edit the waypoints...i mean i can get to some screen, where i can edit the options ofr waypoints but their is seemingly no way to get them to stick...(the waypoint options screen comes up with four basic drop down menus but the only way to get out of it is to press the escape button which seems to cancel any changes, enter key dosent save the changes or do anything for that matter) Edited October 11, 2011 by tk1138
.kju 3245 Posted October 11, 2011 Hm for most if not all templates you can move the key waypoints that represent the objects in the "edit" view - it looks like the 2d map: Sure the wizard has its limits and the editor offers all. That said the wizard is a great tool for new guys to get into it and already offers huge possibilities.

If you use the scenario mission editor, to save a mission you take the steps through, i.e. name your mission, choose sides etc, you can add units, waypoints and edit them, saving is simply the ‘preview’ process, you made your mission when you named it, any editing will be saved via the preview, the mission will be in the 'My Missions' menu..if you abort your mission and want to return to it later it will start from the beginning, I don't think there is a save function during the mission. . There are no waypoints. Instead there are 3 icons. The starting point, the enemy outpost and the ending place. To can move the icons around the map with your mouse. The "preview" button saves your mission so you come back and play it over and over again should you choose. -

You can place waypoints in scenario as well as the main editor.. .
