Us3r 10 Posted October 4, 2011 Hey Guys, Thinking about grabbing this game but not sure which version to get, do the stand alone expansions (Arrowhead and Reinforcements) contain the caompaign from the original ARMA II? or do you need to buy them all? Thanks!
mr burns 133 Posted October 4, 2011 Ahoj Arrowhead only has the Arrowhead campaign, ArmA2 only ArmA2 campaign. Reinforcements (which is not an expansion!) only has the DLC´s campaigns, so even though it includes Arrowhead, it doesn´t come with it´s campaign.
Us3r 10 Posted October 4, 2011 Thanks Mr. Burns, thats a little annoying but what can you do I guess. Is the original arma II worth grabbing? Everywhere says its buggy as hell, or is it better to just skip to arrowhead?

HR4 Elite 10 Posted October 4, 2011 Thanks Mr. Burns, thats a little annoying but what can you do I guess. Is the original arma II worth grabbing? Everywhere says its buggy as hell, or is it better to just skip to arrowhead? Arma2 was a little problematic at the start, but buy it and patch it to the latest patch 1.10 and hey presto they sorted more or less all of the problems out and they are improving it as they go along, so yes well worth buying it. Also think about buying Re-enforcements and you get BAF & PMC combined. I have; Arma2 (Comes with full campaign) patch to 1.10. Operation Arrowhead (Comes with full campain) patch to 1.59 soon to be 1.60 I think. Re-enforcements (not sure regards the campaigns with this one, i.e. if you buy them seperately if the campaigns are different).. I think you can patch this also just can't remember which one.. I only use the editor.. . .
metalcraze 290 Posted October 4, 2011 Everyone who says that ArmA2 is buggy as hell has no clue. 2 years is a long time to fix a lot. There are some bugs left which is to be expected from the game of such scale but nothing gamebreaking by far. It's worth grabbing ArmA2 simply because it has a lot of content that integrates into OA (and also required by ACE mod which you will inevitably install if you'll like the game since it makes it 2 times better). To put it shortly: 2 maps (with one being beautiful Chernarus - I think the best BIS effort so far - 225 sq. km - that's all OA maps put together), USMC, Russians, 2 local guerilla armies, CDF (a made up army that resembles Czech Republic somewhat) - all with respective weapons. Us3r 10 Posted October 4, 2011 Thanks for all the info guys, I think Ill grab that combined operations pack. Thanks again!
tk1138 10 Posted October 5, 2011 AhojArrowhead only has the Arrowhead campaign, ArmA2 only ArmA2 campaign. Reinforcements (which is not an expansion!) only has the DLC´s campaigns, so even though it includes Arrowhead, it doesn´t come with it´s campaign. I went to the store and bought the boxed version of Reinforcements, and on the box it says it comes with OA, and it in fact seems to have OA including the Campaign. The store (best buy) did not have reg arma2 or combined operations, so i bought the reinforcements...otherwise i would have bough Combined operations, which i did eventually buy. Its sitting at my local post office at this very moment....
Beagle 684 Posted October 5, 2011 Thanks Mr. Burns, thats a little annoying but what can you do I guess. Is the original arma II worth grabbing? Buggy as hell...?That was version 1.00 back in may 2009... today we have 2011 and version 1.10 Anyways get ArmA X...it safes you from the update hazzle and you have all BIS games at hand including ArmA II, Operation Arrowhead and PMC+BAF DLC including five campaings. I still like "Harvest Red" the most...it's not only a campaign, it a military adventure game...and still best played in ArmA II not OA. ArmA: OA version 1.60 is on the horizon too.
