tk1138 10 Posted September 30, 2011 so i bought the game a few weeks ago, at my local best buy. The only version they had was the Arma2 Reinforcements, not combined ops that i had intended on purchasing. Much to my surprise and delight, Reinforcements contains Operation Arrowhead, so i wasnt as concerned about them not having Combined operations....Now i want the stuff that i played with in the Free version (yes for your marketers it was this free version that got me in to buying the product, testament to this new marketing model). So to get combined operations do i have to buy combined operations, or can i simply buy Arma2?? Thank you for your time...
lazerath 10 Posted September 30, 2011 Combined ops is simply Arma 2 and Arma 2 Arrowhead. So you already have it if your game came with both. You simply need to install arma 2 and then install arrowhead into the same directory. Just do a search on the forum for the instructions (I think its stickied somewhere). Id give you the link but this is just a quick reply as I don't have the time to search for you at the moment! Congrats and enjoy the game! :D
.kju 3245 Posted September 30, 2011 yes you can combine a2 with A2R, but you can also use A2F with A2R.

tk1138 10 Posted September 30, 2011 (edited) Get ArmA 2 Free Download the ARMA2Free_setup.zip file Extract the zip file to see the ARMA2Free_setup.exe Install the game Get the CD key Visit the activation site Log into Steam / your Google/facebook/Live ID account As alternative create an openID account at https://www.myopenid.com and use the full openID URL to log in Activate ArmA 2 Free with the CD key Combine A2:OA and A2:F with the modline: "-mod=c:\location\of\ArmA 2 Free" what is a modline??? i have everything installed, so now i have to figure out what the modline is so i put the "-mod=c:\location\of\ArmA 2 Free" (note i put in my location of my a2free.exe path, and put in my target line here of my OA short cut where my -nosplash is) when i load it up when i go into editor it dosent show the new maps or the new units from a2... are you sure this works.... adding this also seems to disable my mods as well (ace) Edited September 30, 2011 by tk1138
That guy 10 Posted September 30, 2011 you may not need to buy arrowhead, as all of its content (minus the missions/campaign) are included in RFT. if you do want that content, then get OA the modline is the "target" in the properties of your shortcut (rightclick icon, properties, shortcut tab), for example "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2OA.exe -nosplash" it should look something like this "C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2OA.exe -mod=c:\location\of\ArmA 2 Free"
.kju 3245 Posted September 30, 2011 no like: C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2OA.exe "-mod=c:\location\of\ArmA 2 Free;expansion"
tk1138 10 Posted October 1, 2011 lol i think i got it...the little arma2 symbol shows up in the top right corner with the Arma2free being listed where the @ace and all that stuff is....however the both a2 maps do not show up...not that it matters anymore i went to the store today with all my coins got amazon gift card from the coinstar and then bought the combined operations since it was less expensive than the arma 2 standalone.... thanks all for your help
