How is it spoiling it for those who play it seriously(which I do also love the campaign mode) just to have some extra units added? You don't have to use them just because they're there. I don't usualy include the LST(usually because it doesn't work) and that's in the game.

Now you might want to see fighter/interceptors in the game.  It's not necessary if there's enough ground based anti-aircraft weapons.  Take for example the Vietnam war.  The US had the overwhelming air-superiority.  How many US aircraft got shot down?  Over 3000 from combat, and around 300 from operational accidents.  Losses from Migs were 76.  The US lost aircraft to all sorts of AA guns and SAMs, but mostly AA guns.

I'm not in favor of adding large scale SAM sites, they'd cover the whole island and would control the skies unfarely.  I'd like to see more AA guns, just to make stuff more interesting than these shilkas and vulcans.  But's it's up to the mission makers to make the sides ballanced.  If bombers were added, and one side had bombers, then the other side should have alot more AA guns to shoot them down.  If one side has all the firepower, then yes, the game will be more or less unfairly one-sided.
