while it would be a cool feature, I just don't see it happening; especially when considering no other game does this either (that I know of)

It would mean an extra check for each impact, unless you can filter for weather at an earlier stage of event capture. My flies addon checks for rain, and then a period of "drying out" after rain too.

I'd like to see this, to be honest. I've made a few missions in teh d3s3r+ where dust during rain looks quite odd.
