maddogx 13 Posted September 1, 2011 Is voting disabled? Have you followed these steps?

Overlord 0 Posted September 1, 2011 Is it Linux server? Copy files from Battleye to battleye and keep to lower casings. Wonder if that's a bug in the server?
kurlrip 10 Posted September 1, 2011 yes linux server. I put all in lowercase. Maybe i musn t change the folder. When i put in : /srv/arma2/myprotect/battleye/ that don t work but /srv/arma2/battleye/ it s ok that why i beleived it was that i put in -bepath which was incorect. Hud Dorph 22 Posted September 2, 2011 Are you sure he just dont vote himself as admin ??? What value are your "voteThreshold" set to ??
kurlrip 10 Posted September 2, 2011 Ahhaaa okkkkk i put voteThreshold = 0.33; that means that if someone ask a vote for being admin, he could be admn for changing map for exemple ? Edit : Log of server : 10:06:14 Player PeaceWalkerS connecting. 10:06:15 Player PeaceWalkerS connected (id=6289472). 10:06:19 Admin PeaceWalkerS logged in. It s maybe little quick for have time to ask vote no ? 5 seconds after connecting he is admin ?
Overlord 0 Posted September 2, 2011 When he's alone on server and vote himself (#vote admin [player name]), he'll get 100% of votes. Then he's able to change missions, kick players and so on. If you just want yourself to be able to admin server by pw login (select/ start/ end missions), you better "disable" the vote admin option with voteThreshold=1.01; Any value over 1.00 will work, cause nobody can get more than 100% of votes (1.01 needs 101%) Hope it helps, but with this option you better have a good mission cycle :)

OrLoK 20 Posted September 3, 2011 Hello all slightly OT but still related, quite often ill join a server that has a map/mod set I know and so love and play alone for a bit, hoping for others to join. Whilst there, I usually vote my self Admin, so I know there'll be no tomfoolery. Now, it's not my server, is it bad form for me to do this? I've often felt a bit naughty but have never been admonished for it. (These are fully pub servers btw). tia Rgds LoK
Overlord 0 Posted September 3, 2011 Not at all, not at all. If voting is enabled I guess the server owner want ppl to fiddle around themselves. Server admins who NOT want players to log in as admin usually disable the option, and run a pre-defined mission cycle.
OrLoK 20 Posted September 4, 2011 hello there, That's what I was hoping (and thought), but the ofp, vbs, arma etc community does tend to have quite "individual" attitudes to what is perceived as good or bad form. Even though iv'e been around the community for years I was never quite sure as i'm somewhat of a lone wolf. As long as i'm not stepping on any toes, I'm a happy camper. .da.Trademark 10 Posted September 20, 2011 We enable voting on our CTI server but not our other servers. We disable it. Admin Voting is usually enabled in case an actual server administrator is not available to take care of things or adjust parameters.
