Pukko 0 Posted June 3, 2002 Shit how good Italy looks then! Only 16 minutes in, but it looks perfect... If not Portugal or Germany do good, they are already in the final-final EDIT: Ooops, forgot Spain - might do a good cup for once....
Guest Posted June 3, 2002 Oh, shit. Poor Ecuador. They are running over them. Damn, Italy is good this year.
InRange 1 Posted June 3, 2002 What? Italy? Where? Damnit, I'm missing out on all these matches because of the damn time difference. All the matches are played at either 8.30 in the morning, 11.30 in the morning or 13.30 (1.30 pm) in the afternoon. Thank god the next World Cup will be held in Europe again. Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted June 3, 2002 Hey, that is not fair! I wanted the poll to give us a realistic overview of what people think of the teams- sucess or deseaster? But of course everyone here is so damm patriotic that they vote for their own country! (except the ones voting for argentine!. What about Kamerun, they got a real chance, seriously! What about all the Britts? Do you seriously believe you gonna win the cup? So sweet!

Albert Schweitzer 10 Posted June 3, 2002 I wanted to add so many countries more, but no space. Spain is indeed a good team, but unfortunately didnt get to the final-finals during the last cups. And I had to list also some "New-comers"!

Tex -USMC- 0 Posted June 4, 2002 well, all your yammering on about soccer has convinced me to stay up and watch some world cup soccer. usually I only watch the championship game, as Ive found that championship games are more enjoyable, even if you dont like the game in question. Oh, btw: If the game I watch is a 0-0 tie, I am going to kill someone.
Espectro (DayZ) 0 Posted June 4, 2002 Guys, u all know that Denmark will win this year... Admit it! Ahhh, i remember in '92, when we won the european championship...... ahh, the memories
Guest Posted June 4, 2002 Tex: You picked a bad day to watch football. Today's games will be lame: China-Costa Rica Japan-Belgium Korea-Poland All bad teams, well, except for Belgium maybe.

And so far, Korea-Poland is looking fun too... ...that's the good thing about tournaments this big, there are always teams who surprise and play entertaining football. I must agree with Espectro of course, Denmark will win
Tex -USMC- 0 Posted June 4, 2002 well, guess I missed the Japan game. watching the rest of Korea/Poland, and it would seem that Korea has the Poles wrapped aorund their finger

MAsta_KFC 0 Posted June 4, 2002 Well done to Korea!! First ever win in a World Cup game!! Won 2-0 against Poland, they were ripping. Of course with a home crowd like that, it helped them big time.
Postduifje 0 Posted June 4, 2002 Since Holland isn't at the worldcup, I have to choose another team to support, but this cup is full of dualities. -Korea vs Belgium for example. I've watched that game torn in two. Our beloved southern-neighbours against Korea with a dutch coach. -Germany vs Ireland also. Ireland is the reason Holland is not there right now, but Germany have tormented us with our absence (something like: "Ihr seit nicht dabei"). They must both suffer from a terrible defeat!!! IsthatyouJohnWayne 0 Posted June 4, 2002 If you want a great game then on present form watch any Brazil game- they may not win (or care about defense) but they WILL play beautiful football (they did against Turkey) except for one blatent exception Rivaldos stupid faking of injury the ball went out of play a turk kicked it at him,and hit him on a leg he grabbed his face like he was seriously hurt and got the turkish guy sent off http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport3....985.stm

Aehm, BTW here comes my NEWEST THESIS! I bet soccer will become very famous in the US during the next decades! I think this will mainly be caused throgh the immigrants moving in the US (and those that are already there). I bet there are already quite many mexican teams to be found in the States, just playing for fun. Also, locations like central park are great to play soccer! Postduifje 0 Posted June 4, 2002 IsthatyouJohnWayne, I don't entirely agree. I mean, Brazil has lot's of good players (individiually the best), but I don't think they played beautifull football against Turkey, nor did they in most of their qualifying matches. They will probable come along way, if not all the way, but in this last match, the Turkish football was better looking than the Brazilian. And btw, in the semi-finals match of 1998 Holland vs Brazil, Brazil was all about defending They played with 10 defenders and Ronaldo. That's sucky soccer
