gabe_ruckus 5 Posted October 17, 2011 @LeftSkidLow, Thanks! That was a good explanation. So there should be some Torque-Induced Yaw when using the collective, but that doesn't explain why my craft rolls to the right. Any thoughts? It's the retreating side of the rotor blades. If you're in forward flight and you change the collective, it changes the amount of lift being generated on the left side, where the blades are moving into the direction of movement, and the right side, where the blades speed is effectively reduced by whatever the speed of the chopper is. This imbalance of lift will roll the chopper to the right side, given clockwise rotation of the rotors. Now if it's happening while in a hover, I have no idea. mmaker 10 Posted October 20, 2011 Anyone tried this with keyboard and mouse? I found it rather hard and pretty annoying :) The helicopter seems to live its own life, and mouse input doesnt do much even with maxed out senstivity? I mean as soon i take off and only press Q the helicopters starts to rotation in all different directions basically. I thought the easiest settings would be like Arma2 but its not even close :P I had exactly same problem flying helicopter in FsX, i skipped it totally, and just enjoyed flying planes which is alot easier even on full realistic settings. Is helicopters just alot harder and annoying to fly then planes in real life too or whats going on? Maybe you need proper controlls to enjoy or?
royaltyinexile 175 Posted October 20, 2011 Anyone tried this with keyboard and mouse? I found it rather hard and pretty annoying :) You should first try to fly with "Auto Trim" enabled. This means you don't have to constantly adjust your trim, which gives you more time to concentrate on other things, particularly while you're learning. :) Also be sure to start on the easiest difficulty mode. That'll automatically disable things like wind-effect on the FM. I'm sure the other guys here can get you flying though! ;) Best, RiE

I probably used regular setting before. With recruit alot easier and it feels like Arma2.
-DirTyDeeDs--Ziggy- 0 Posted October 25, 2011 (edited) I use mouse and keyboard. I started using Autotrim and learned how the flight model works. However, I've since learned that Autotrim takes away about half the capability/sensitivity of the rudder control. I am much more effective with Autotrim disabled and the shackles off. reference: Once you learn to compensate for the aggressive torque that causes the chopper to tilt back and to the right, you can use that effect to your advantage, ie; circle strafing ;) Edited October 25, 2011 by [DirTyDeeDs]-Ziggy-
