New mission:

Mission concept is by Keenan Weaver, and the mission

"implementation" is by me..

Western units have lost their contact with island Everon.

They believe that the East controls the entire island now.

Your Delta squad is sent to take back Lamentin, where the

last guerilla radio message came from.

Mission features:

- briefing & overview

- intro & outro (they are pretty good, at least I like them smile.gif)

- 100% infantry combat

- OFP v1.3 required

- official addons: BMP2, HMMWV and Hunter required

This is a beta version, still I don't think that it has any bugs.

You can download it from here or you can visit my small

OFP page..

If someone hopes that I would remove the addons from the

mission and make it OFP v1.0 "compliant", please let me know..

was a good clean mission.... very good movie at the intro. where did you get the bodies covered with sheets. smile.gif

They appear now and then in the original 1985 campaign as well. Maybe you just stepped on them without noticing. wow.giftounge.gif

When I tried to start the mission I got the error message: no entry `config.cpp/cfg/vehicles.BB004` and crashed back to windows. What did I miss? confused.gif

What version of OFP do you have?

It requires OFP v1.3 and BMP2.

Could you try again if this does not solve your problem?

Well have you downloaded the version behind that link?

I added the "final beta version" about 6 hours ago.

The "yesterday" version was buggy..

I had a tough time getting my mission.sqm to readable,

format, but I got it, thanks to avonlady!

In intro, there is a Humvee, which is an official addon.

Hunter is an official addon, too..

They all come with Ultimate Upgrade 2 or 3..

I played this mission twice. The first time I got killed after taking out the BMP and then someone let me have it just as I was taking cover behind a building.

The second time, I took better cover before hitting the BMP (see note 3, below). I completed the mission in command of two other surviving teammates.

Some constructive criticism:

1. Your into is way too long and stretched out. I found this to be true in the last mission you posted here as well.

Skip the Russian camp first part. Start with the resistance sitting around their campfire unaware of the approaching BMP ("Do you hear something?").

The lone guard with PK and his slow motion retreat was nice but he didn't start running until the BMP was practically on his toes.

The resistance troops around the campfire seemed to still be sitting with legs folded after the BMP came to town. Not very alert.

Similarly, cut down on the US HQ scene. The status brief to the soldiers at attention would have been enough. Also when you dismiss them, change "Dismiss" to "Dismissed" in the text.

2. After hitting the beach, all are instructed to go to a building in the town, even though no one has breached the hillcrest yet, from where you can first see town. Try making it more realistic by first instructing us to breach the hill and then go to town.

3. The BMP in town is too stationary. Make its location variable and maybe more alert, in motion, etc.

4. The end cutscene was also a little too long and the random views of various locations in town was dizzying and didn't make much sense. If you meant give an impression of the carnage, focus and move slowly on destroyed emplacements and the BMP and then on dead NATO and Russian troops.

I just love to make cutscenes..

But maybe I'll learn to love making shorter cutscenes! smile.gif

Tried again to play your mission, but again I got this stupid error message and crashed to windows. That happens directly before the intro is loaded. I can`t find a reason for that, the same happens with Bosun`s mission, too sad.gif

You said you have OFP 1.46.

Do you have some kind of unofficial addons?

If we can't work this out, you'll just have to wait

until I get my next mission, anti-tank mission, polished..

My unofficial addons are:

-Keg`s winter island and vehicles, Hawk and that mistmaking tank

-Ash`s winter vehicles

-the desert island from ofpinternals

-another desert-island (called zwa-malden or so

-the jungle island hosted from opfeditingcenter.com

-Satchel`s Dynamic Range sound mod

That must be all, at least I think so, but I have to look again, when I`m home today...

(I also have some editors and helps from opfeditingcenter on mission editing installed, but none of them should directly interfere with OFP... )

"Stop invasion" got 4/10 in OFPEC..

Not very well.

They said that the custom sounds and camera scripting sucked.

Well, I have to agree, sounds suck when I now play the mission..

Maybe I'll have to remove them.

And that was my first mission, so I guess I still have hope..

What's the message?

Did you check your Flashpoint.rpt file to see if the error was recorded there?

Last time when he tried to play my mission,

he got this:

I don't know how that is possible since other ppl have

succesfully played my mission and it has no unofficial addons,

and even if it did, FallenPaladin has them..
