ubermachtig 0 Posted May 21, 2011 Dear friends, In quite a few games, the options supplied in the options menu aren't always the best a game can possibly reach. I remember that, with adjusting a few numbers, IL2 sturmovik's graphical quality could be improved severely on modern hardware. To put it simple; lets assume there are 5 levels of graphical quality, but in the in game menu Very High is only level 3. That means you can still set it 2 levels higher when going into the configuration files. Recently I purchased a new computer which, in contradiction to my previous one, manages to run ArmA 2 very smoothly. This is also due to the relatively low resolution my monitor supports (1280 x 1024). Therefore, recourses can be allocated to other areas. Setting all settings to "Very High" in the ingame menu, leads to the following result in ubermachtig.ArmA2OAprofile: anisoFilter=4; TexQuality=3; TexMemory=4; useWBuffer=0; tripleHead=0; shadingQuality=10; shadowQuality=4; singleVoice=0; maxSamplesPlayed=128; Now, what I was wondering; can these values be increased even more manually to achieve even bettter graphical quality? Laqueesha 474 Posted May 21, 2011 Now, what I was wondering; can these values be increased even more manually to achieve even bettter graphical quality? By doing so, you'll rip a hole in the space time continuum, creating a black hole which will swallow up the planet earth, and eventually, the entire universe. :p
ast65 10 Posted May 22, 2011 (edited) If your monitor resolution is low I would increase render resolution to 2560*2048 ie. That way you have superior image quality (downsampling) and your hw will be maxed out :D shouldn´t your shading quality be 100 and not 10? You can try setting TexQuality to 4 Edited May 22, 2011 by @ST
-=seany=- 5 Posted May 22, 2011 You can get higher Anisotropic Filtering by forcing it through your gfx driver. I think the highest in game setting = an nvidia driver setting of x8. Going to x16 makes a big difference. If you really have performance to spare, Ambient Occlusion and Super sampling should help you out no end :D
