MavericK96 0 Posted April 14, 2011 This might be a configuration issue, but I don't know enough about ArmA2 dedicated servers to figure it out myself. I recently started toying with the idea of running a dedicated server on a separate local box. I got it all set up, and it seems to be running fine. However, when I go to choose a mission (after logging in as admin), it brings me to the player slot selection page, but I am unable to choose the first slot of any mission, as there is an AI player there. Even if I choose "Disable AI", it will remove them from all but the first slot, and I still am unable to select that slot. I beseech the lords of ArmA2 dedicated server administration...What's going on here? Also, on a separate, probably not related issue: When I try to select a certain user-created mission on the dedicated server, it will blink to the player selection screen, but then jump immediately back to the mission selection screen. In the dedicated server window, it just says: 15:28:33 Mission co14 Defend the villa read from bank. I am able to start a local server and play this mission just fine. Any help would be great, thanks in advance. :D
MavericK96 0 Posted April 17, 2011 Really? No one has ever seen this issue?
rundll.exe 12 Posted April 18, 2011 On your second issue: Are you sure that the server has all the addons needed for that mission? Have no clue about the first issue. Have you tried the obvious: restarting the server? Somehow I have the idea the missions are not started "fresh". Also remind that the commands #reassign and #restart do not work properly, use #missions to select a new mission after every game.
MavericK96 0 Posted April 23, 2011 Thanks for the reply! Yes, I've tried restarting the server. And I haven't been using commands, as the server is set to go straight to the voting screen when a player connects. I simply connect as a player, log in as admin, and then click on the mission I want. It forces AI into the first slot and won't allow me to remove it or put myself in the slot either. As for the other mission, that is a possibility, though I'm pretty sure that particular mission doesn't require any special mods. I will double-check, though. .kju 3244 Posted April 23, 2011 Most BI missions force the host to be the first slot as they designed their missions not flexible enough. If you launch them on a DS, the server will take the first slot and render the mission basically useless.
looter 10 Posted August 22, 2012 I am having the same issue on a dedicated server I just setup. The server joins the game as __SERVER__ for some reason but most importantly it takes up the group leader slot of the first squad with more than 2 slots it can find. Is there any way to disable it from doing this?
