Why is this value different in ArmaII and ArmaIIOA configs?

Recommended Posts

arma2.cfg version 1.09

---------

3D_Performance=-4194304;

arma2oa.cfg version 1.57

------------

3D_Performance=93750;

Why are they not the same? What do they really mean? Which is a better value, more positive or more negative?

Good questions!

Arma 2: 3D_Performance=-4194304;

OA : 3D_Performance=1500000;

Well, I like positives, but then, I also like negatives ... well theres only one way to find out ...

I would imagine based on the engine change for OA most values arent going to the the same. If you havent done so since OA install, simply rename your OA profile and load the game and let it be re created. I did this and the values changed and helped with some stutter. Not suggesting thats ok for all, but I dont read into it anything more than the fact that values changed once OA config was re-created, I had never done this since patches and install of OA as combined into my long installed Arma2.

Ouch ... could this explain why all my patches since 1.57 seems to have caused FPS problems, even after playing around with video options? I'm still running 1.57 .... Maybe I'll try this in 1.60, if I have the nerve. You would think someone from BIS could fill in the blanks here.

I have done a clean install of Windows7 and the games. Can you find out why people have different values and why they are different between AII and AIIOA?

I could not say to be honest, to guess would be silly on my part so I wont. Although as I say a fresh re-write of the config will help in siutations where its never been done and you have added to a longterm arma2 install with OA, well, it did for me.

A fresh install showed different values for my computer. Why won't the developers give us an answer?
