Stag 0 Posted May 18, 2002 Got your attention? Good. Anybody out there got an image showing the detail of the SUSAT mounting on the L1A1? I could only find one crappy example: Edit: Also, check the mag; that looks like a 30 round clip. Not even sure if this Is an L1A1; Could be An Aussie, Canadian, Or maybe even Argentinian example, so details may be different?
Eviscerator 0 Posted May 18, 2002 L1A1 with a SUSAT? i didnt even know they used SUSAT's

Miles 0 Posted May 18, 2002 The SA80 rules! (your model and in real life). What is the zoom on the susat though? Is it 4x?

Stag 0 Posted May 18, 2002 The SUSAT's magnification is fixed at x4. Hmm. be nice to know what the crosshairs look like, too.

The thing that was solved was the shadow of the muzzle flash, not actually the real muzzle flash bug.

Also my father-in-law was in the Falklands with 11th regiment 38th Squadron of the royal Engineers (and various other squads inc. anphil troop) and he never saw one before even in the hands of frontline squads. The rifle in question is a license made FN FNC assault rifle modified for Sweden's sub-arctic environment equipped with the British SUSAT (Sight Unit Small Arms Trilux) with 4X magnification and a special cheek support to further stabilize the weapon. Stag 0 Posted May 18, 2002 I'm sure Ive seen photos of SLRs with SUSAT fitted. As for that rifle being an FNC. I disagree. this is an FNC: Disregard the stock, of course 30 round clips were issued by Aussies, Canucks and Argies for a heavy barrelled version (LMG), But the same magazine could be (and was) used in the standard rifle. What cheek support?
RedStar 0 Posted May 18, 2002 sorry, My bad. I meant the FN-FAL. I am not arguing that there is no FAL's with SUSAT's fitted merely that these were not issued by the british army.
Stag 0 Posted May 18, 2002 Well, If I'm going to make it I'd better prove it. I can see the bloody thing in my mind's eye, and I think the photo was taken in Belfast. Time for a visit to the library, and their copy of Janes.

KDF 0 Posted May 19, 2002 The the scope on the SLR was called the SUIT rather than SUSAT if I recall correctly. The SUSAT recticle looks like the outline of an upward pointing arrow -its point is the aimpoint
KTottE 0 Posted May 19, 2002 This: http://www.soldf.com/images/s_ak5_nykolv.jpg http://www.soldf.com/images/s_ak5b_2.jpg is an FN FNC modified for swedish sub-artic environment.
