Scrambled game because of HD 200%

Recommended Posts

I got my second graphics card working and tried putting HD resolution to 200% and my games graphics got very messed up. Even after restarting it stayed too messed up to change the settings. I uninstalled and redownloaded on steam but it is still like that. How can I fix this?

200% graphics? Your monitor can't display that, usually 100% is your native resolution.

Go into My Documents/ArmA 2/ArmA2OA.cfg

Look at the lines:

Resolution_W=xxxx;

Resolution_H=xxxx;

Remember the numbers that you see in place of the "xxxx". In my case, they are 1600 and 1200, respectively.

Go the lines:

Render_W=xxxx;

Render_H=xxxx;

Copy the number from the "Resolution_W" line into the "Render_W" line, and the same for the "_H" lines.

This should reset your 3D resolution (fillrate) to 100%.

tl;dr Go to the game's config file and set the Render resolution to your Interface resolution.

Hopefully this can help you.

Actually its nothing to do with the monitor res. Its the res that Arma works at internally and outputs the display res which is locked to monitor maximum.

(I think its pretty silly to go above 100% but some people feel its better than using AA :j:)

Dysentry, do what Duckmeister suggests or...

I don't know if this works with Steam version but search for the Arma2.cfg file and delete it. (It will be called Arma2OA if you have OA)

I didn't know that. Sounds like something worth trying out (I'm a performance/quality freak)

You have probably waster your money too, I have learned over the years that A2 performs better with single GFX card set ups than two in SLi. That is experienced both with 2 GTX285s in SLi and now 2 GTX580s. I get better performance with the 2 GTX580s running three 1900x1080 monitors than I ever did with the two in SLi running one 1900x1200 monitor.

You will suffer far less crashing issues single card as well.
