Which OA .Pbo's?

Recommended Posts

Hey, on to a point now where im placing stuff on my maps! just need to know

which ..pbo's I need to use. Is it the same as ArmA2? like roads, plants, bushes etc? or in a different order?

What im seeing now is also everything with them names, ie Roads etc have an "e" in there name, so ill be adding all the CA files with the e?

And when placing this stuff in my work folder, I do it how? CA2 or CAE? im not sure as there is no up to date guides on making maps for OA lol .. sorry

Also, if I wanted to use both items from A2 and OA .. how to set that up?

Thx guys.

You can also try Mikeros Arma2P: Tool.

It will setup your P-Drive correctly according to what Expansions/DLC's you use.

I did it just 1 week ago or so.. great tool :)

Source: http://dev-heaven.net/projects/mikero-pbodll/files

Just make sure you install the latest DePbo, ExtractPbo and ConvertP3D with it.

Forgetting one can result in some errors which was my cause for some trouble..

Hint:

There seem to be some troubles when using an arma2oa.exe beyond v1.54.

Since Arma2P uses the available files from your Arma2\Folder it will replace the buldozer.exe with an the one you have there which if you have patched (i assume so) would be arma2oa.exe v 1.57.

Im trying out the new beta.exe build 78188 today and leave a message here if that one works well.

Edit: Tried it out, after 10minutes of loading i finally quit buldozer, wasnt responding too according to the taskmanger.

Edit:

If you want to do it manually here's a pic of my P:CA\ folder :)

You can use which .pbo's you like.

Put them with their original names in the CA folder that's already present on your P:drive.

For example:

Armawork\CA\Structures_e

Armawork\CA\ca_e

Armawork\CA\Plants_e

Armawork\CA\Structures

Armawork\CA\Plants2

...

And so on...

I guess the most useful ones are structures_e, plants_e, misc_e, plants_e,

rocks_e, signs_e and roads_e.

Hope that helps.

@Darkxess

The readme tells you what it does remove.

//

Arma2P removes any relevent P:\folder before extractions begin.

P:\ca

P:\bin

p:\langaugecore

p:\core

//

So basically anything that gets updated to the newest version.

Your personal folders are not touched! Unless you put something in there^^

@bracer

Nothing really special.. except for the nice bunker and the v-type powergridthingy...

The rest are some buildings that are already in arma2 execpt that they have different textures on them.

If you like i can PM you a Textfile with the Objectnames of the PMC_Structures

I use to arma2p also, no need to worry with your personal stuff, it'll remain as is. In general it's a very good idea to unpack the whole game(s) to your P: drive. You can avoid a many a stupid thing by doing such. Just a recommendation though ;)
