Joe98 92 Posted February 1, 2011 In “My Missions†I had the AI set up on an airstrip and gave the AI opponent aircraft. But the AI doesn’t fly the aircraft. They just sit on the runway. -
hungrytoheal 10 Posted February 1, 2011 Try adding in some waypoints.
khugan 24 Posted February 1, 2011 When you place the aircraft, also select "flying" in its placement window.
Alwarren 2767 Posted February 1, 2011 In “My Missions†I had the AI set up on an airstrip and gave the AI opponent aircraft.- Is that the "My Missions" where you can select templates like "04: Combat" (or whatever it is called)? If yes, I don't think you have enough control in that thing to make aircraft fly, or put waypoints.

Rail82 10 Posted February 1, 2011 Do it from the editor. It works basically the same way as the wizard, except you have WAY more control, and you aren't limited by the point system that the wizard has for placing units. I'm pretty sure there is a secops mod you can place in the editor if you want to be able to do those, if that's what you are using the wizard to accomplish. You can also place an ambient combat module on the map and link it to the group you control if you want some random action while playing your mission. Those two things should give it the secops wizard feel. IF you want the enemy aircraft to take off from the base, I'm pretty sure if you place the aircraft and set it to "in formation" and then set waypoints, they should take off from the runway. Once they are in the air, they should stay flying until they run out of gas. Or you can place them on the map and set them to "flying" and they will already be in the air and their shouldn't be any need to place waypoints unless you want them to fly a specific path. Play with the editor. It takes a little getting used to, but there are youtube videos that show how to use the basics of the editor. I was making missions from the wizard when I first got the game, because I was intimidated by the editor... which ended up being unfounded, because it is ridiculously easy to use. Now it can get complicated if your trying to do scripting, but there are more than enough tools at your disposal with the editor, to not really have to use scripting if you don't want to.
