R0ogie 10 Posted January 1, 2011 Hey, I just got Arma 2 OA from the steams daily deals. Im trying to run I44 mod but im not sure how, So far I made an @mod folder here. C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead Then I put these files in it. Arma2BUILD_72588 The two I44 Patches 2.1 and 2.2 And the main I44 Mod file. I then looked on the web, and it said you just make a shortcut from the arma 2 OA exe and change the target location to? What do I change it to? ---------- Post added at 01:04 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:19 AM ---------- Can someone help? Im sure someone has used I44 on steam before.. I downloaded a mod launcher but whenever I change the target it says not valid? Also when I change the .exe i found in the arma 2 OA folder target that dosnt work either :S
Sleep 10 Posted January 1, 2011 if you made a folder called @mod then right click your game in steam library then go down to properties, launch options... inside that little area put in -mod=@mod it will call on that folder when loading the game

AnimalMother92 10 Posted January 1, 2011 Use SpiritedMachine's launcher http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=8241 Wrong forum, this is for mods that you have completed and released ;) Welcome to the forums
R0ogie 10 Posted January 1, 2011 Ah, I do apologize! Im not sure if my CO is working, Like I said in my post.
AnimalMother92 10 Posted January 1, 2011 The launcher will help with that, just point it to your arma 2 and oa steam folders and set it to CO mode. It will combine them for you. You'll know it worked if you see Chernarus and Takistan in the Island list.

As far as running your game in CO I would do that always. I'm not sure of all the reasons that CO only opens the command prompt, i get that sometimes from having too many mods. First thing I would work on is getting CO to work vanilla then keep working on the i44 mod.
R0ogie 10 Posted January 1, 2011 I only have a Arma 2 OA folder..
crimsontide 10 Posted January 1, 2011 if they havent clarified it already - 1. go into C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 (thats my computer, yours could be different) 2. make a folder titled @I44 3. in @I44, make a second folder titled AddOns 4. put all .pbo or .bisign files included into this AddOns folder 5. Open properties of the Arma 2 OA shortcut and add -mod=@I44; to your target line, so it would look like "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma2OA.exe" -mod=@I44 Another thing to look at is in OA, you don't need to put anything in the target line like before. just put the @I44 folder like described above in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 then launch the game and in the main menu, click on expansions. you should see @I44 in the list. click on it, then click enable and then click ok and it will tell you to restart the game. do that and you should be good to go. crimsontide 10 Posted January 1, 2011 it sounds like your combined ops isn't working and you only are running OA. I44 is an Arma 2 mod and I don't think it will work with OA stand alone. I don't know about getting combined ops to work together with the steam version, I have it on disk, but I think that is your problem, the two games havent combined. once you get that worked out, follow the steps I posted above and it should work. R0ogie 10 Posted January 1, 2011 they are only RAR file and the main file is 7Z
crimsontide 10 Posted January 1, 2011 When I change target, it says not valid check path is correct and bunch of other stuff. did you copy and paste my target line? just add -mod=@I44 to the end of your own target line and hit apply or don't do that snd go under expansions in the main menu and enable I44. R0ogie 10 Posted January 1, 2011 Ok Ok, Ill sort out Arma 2. But lets just say I want this mod http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=11840 I changed it from a 7Z file to a PBO Now I go on steam > game> properties > launch options change to the -mod=@mod or w,e and start the game and it will work? This is an OA mod so I dont need arma
crimsontide 10 Posted January 1, 2011 (edited) they are only RAR file and the main file is 7Z you need to unzip that file. are you using an zip tool like winzip or jzip? when I downloaded I44 with jzip it alllowed me to extract the .pbo and bisign files from that archive. if you havent already, install one of those and that will allow you to extract the files in the RAR archive. I would recommend jzip in terms of simplicity. ---------- Post added at 08:44 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:39 PM ---------- Ok Ok, Ill sort out Arma 2.But lets just say I want this mod http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=11840 I changed it from a 7Z file to a PBO Now I go on steam > game> properties > launch options change to the -mod=@mod or w,e and start the game and it will work? This is an OA mod so I dont need arma 2 actually, that particular mod does require arma 2. check the requirements on the download page. you add -mod=@whatevermodname to the target line in the properties of your desktop shortcut for arma 2 oa. if you have a folder titled @whatevermodname in your arma 2 OA game location, and inside that folder is another called AddOns inside AddOns is all the .pbo and .bisign files of the desired mod, then yeah, it should work. SPC.Spets 21 Posted January 1, 2011 I44 is a mod for Arma 2 not Arma 2 OA only. you need Arma 2 or Arma 2 CO Edit: ops! I read you bought also Arma 2 CO
R0ogie 10 Posted January 1, 2011 I bought OA from steam, But when I launch the game it gives me 4 options. Play OA Launch in windowed mode Uninstall battleye Launch CO But when i launch CO a command prompt window opens and closes and nothing happens?
jimmymonet 10 Posted January 1, 2011 (edited) Okay dude (roogie) I have both Arma2 and Arma2OA on steam and I'm running I44 now. I didn't buy combined ops but just one and then the other. I have two folders in my steam/steamapps/common/ I have: steam/steamapps/common/arma2 and steam/steamapps/common/arma2operationarrowhead If i want to run combined ops (which you would have to for I44 it uses vanilla arma2) I go in steam and run operation arrowhead and then it pops up a little window for Arma2OA or Arma2 combined ops. I select combined ops. If your steam window looks like this you need to put the modfiles in your arma2operationarrowhead folder. Which would look like this: steam/steamapps/common/arma2operationarrowhead/@I44 Since I am running op arrowhead to run combined ops if I put them in my arma2 folder it won't find the mod files. You would run them by right clicking on the operation arrowhead icon in steam and selecting properties, under the "general" tab you will see a button for "set launch options" select that option and add in: -mod=@I44; no spaces or anything. In this way steam will run any modfolders in your arma2operationarrowhead folder. IE: -mod=@I44;@blastcore;@celle; or -nosplash -mod=@I44;@blastcore; I hope this helps. This is how I do it for Steam with both Arma2 and Operation Arrowhead, again I didn't buy combined ops I bought the two separately so while your folders may look different you should run them the same way. EDIT: Also after reading more of the posts, it does sound like combined ops is not properly installed. I'm not saying that's the case for sure, but I would also check under your games in steam and make sure there you don't need to install Arma 2 and Arma 2 op arrowhead as two separate games. Again just b/c that's how it is on my steam and I would imagine if you bought combined ops its probably the same since you need all the files from both games for combined ops. Big Dawg KS 6 Posted January 2, 2011 This thread's way OT and probably going to be closed, and this is probably already mentioned 100 times in the steam thread, but in order to run CO through Steam you have to first install both ArmA 2 & OA (or CO) on Steam and launch ArmA 2 (without OA) at least once before you can launch CO through Steam. Also, I44 doesn't even support OA as far as I know, so you should probably just run it with ArmA 2 standalone and not as CO.
