help editing Su-25 loadout

hello.

I've tried downloading the sql for dummies, to understand scripting, but it proved a little bit confusing.

I've seen a few addons like mandas missles, and ace, but what i'm trying to do is make a possibly permanent loadout change to a SU-25.

First of all I downloaded the Georgian Army mod, and used the Su-25 that came with the pack. I've went into the editor and under the initialization line, tried to type removeallWeapons Su-25.

I've also tried commands like addWeapon 80mmLancher Su-25, and tried combining the commands into a single line (considering there was no way to add a second line to the parameter) i.e. removeallWeapons Su-25; addWeapon 80mmLauncher Su-25

nothing seems to work, I keep getting an error " missing ; "

or something about " type nothing,amount,array"

What i'm trying to do is mount (8) Sa-8 80mm rocket pods to my Su-25. I want 4 per wing just like that Su-25 had in Iron Eagle II (1986 movie)

I guess I have 2 questions..

#1 how can I make this happen,

#2 is there a way to modify the actual Su-25 file or create a script file in notepad to make this plane permanently this way?

1.Put a Su25 on the map named MyPlane

2.Write the code in its init as below:

removeallWeapons MyPlane; MyPlane addMagazine "80Rnd_S8T"

the code you provided does nothing. All the ammo remains the same, the fab_250 bombs, the 2 missles, and the cannon are unchanged

wait are you saying u want to have the actual weapons on the plane showing?

if thats the case you would have to remodel the plane then, and make a config for the vehicle so it has the proper weapons.

the code he provided above adds the magazines, but because there not intended for that vehicle, it doesnt know how to use them. (from what i understand)

if u want to use them u would have to add an action in the scroll menu that triggers a script that fires the ammunition from something (which i dont know how one would do that, maybe useweapon)

but in theory im guessing:

use attachto for the weapon and unit that fires it to the plane

use hideobject on the weapon.

then have a script trigger the weapon firing by action "useweapon"

but like i said thats all in theory.

ok thx for the replies.. here is an update:

I successfully removed the bombs and missles, I cleared all the waypoints. I then added back the S8 pods, but It would only allow me to add 2 per wing (back to original I guess). after that I played with adding the 80mmLauncher and HE ammo. It then gave me two selections of ammo S8-80 rounds, and S8-40 rounds. The gun was invisible however, the same thing happened when I tried to add the mi-24 hind pods (S5 rockets).

The only thing it would let me add to the last 6 hardpoints were different missle types, but no more pods of any sort.

wondering how I can model in more pods, and configure them to fire.

But for now the 4 that I do have, only fire from 1 pod per wing (essentially making one a pretty paperweight). Is there a way I can make the other 2 fire and alternate between pairs A and B?

best code I got working for this model was:

just to follow up... If someone has already modelled the S8Launcher in game, there has to be a way to just copy the model over to make more of them on a wing, and configure them to fire in alternating pairs...

it might work. i dont really have much knowledge of editing vehicle load outs, so i cannot say for sure. But i believe adding magazine types to a vehicle, will not be usable by the vehicle, as they werent intended for it. (ex try adding m16 magazine to an a10)

thats why i suggest getting the weapon itsself with a gunner, attach the weapon to the plane and then either hide the gunner or hide both, and use an action to fire them,

other than that i dont know anymore.

Nop.

The places where the missile spawn from has nothing to do with the pods, it has to do with some defined memory-points in the model. Cant be changed.

The number of pods appearing on the wings is also defined in the model. Again, cant be changed.

Only thought is you might have been able to ATTACHTO some fake pods to the outside of the Su25, but it seems the "s8_launcher_aircraft" P3D model that is the Pod proxy, is not defined in the Standard config so without a special "addon" (not scripts) you cant do that either.

Like much about weapons proxys on planes (yes, using the search button you will find much discussion about this) the BIS system is not designed for "custom" loadouts. Far from it.

You can remove and add your own weapons/magazines to planes and choppers, they may actually fire too, but its highly unlikely they will ever appear properly hanging from the wings and the missiles etc may actually spawn (when fired) in odd spots.

Only non-BIS / User made addons *might* allow custom loadouts that actually appear on the model.

You could use drop to so spawn the pod model as a particle, but that'd probably look fugly (also I'm not sure you could orient it correctly).

ok, so it's obvious that i'm going to have to take a Su-25 blank model, and design it from the ground up.

I'm looking at taking an "Su-25 shell" and modelling 8 S8T rocket pods to it. Can someone kindly point me in the right direction on what program to download to edit models, or a su-25 shell to modify?

Well .... wrong subforum now ..... and again, search.

Go to the o2 modelling section and start reading, theres dozens and dozens of threads about "how do I make...." and "wheres a tutorial for ......"

And no, BIS didn't provide the Su25 as a sample model, so you've probably got a couple of years work ahead of you if you've never done 3d modelling before.
