[Solved] Beta compatibility?

I am no longer able to join previous version servers using the beta? Beta is 1.57 and previous is 1.56 at this point. I used to be able to join and play the beta. I no longer test the beta because of this, since beta life is pretty lonely.

Any chance this is going to change or anything I can do to make the beta work with previous versions? Is there a reason the code is not backwards compatible? (I am guessing there is)

Yeah ... Steam just released the update on wednesday it appears.
