FPS drop / Stutter SOLVED - PSU related

Recommended Posts

I decided to open this to share how I solved my problems.

My problem was a constant pattern of GOOD FPS/BAD FPS/GOOD FPS and so on. Being more specific I started playing the game at 70 FPS and that lasted constant like 5 minutes, then I got a FPS drop to 15 for one or two minutes. And the cicles began all over and over again.

I solved the issue by observing that all the time the game was on good FPS, all the core clocks were at 2800 MHZ and the voltage that they were receiving was 1.35V (both stock values for the processor, Phenon II x4 920). I also noticed that when the game entered the BAD FPS phase, the clock was 800mhz and the voltage 1.05. And every time it changed this was observed.

So my PSU was cracked, and I bough a 700 W PSU with declared efficiency of 85%. Solved once and for all.

Cheers, Andrei

I just purchased a new OCZ Agility 2 specifically for Arrowhead PMC and to my surprise the stutter is still there. I have a huge PC Power and Cooling PSU 750 watt that @ peak is 900 watt, that is under utilized. I get the stutter. I believe the issue is the game engine. I have 7 total computers and they all have different hardware. they play games like BFBC2 and Medal of Honor and COD. The thing that perplexes me is ARMA2 not even at default settings does it run correctly.

First of all, your CPU is not too powerful, nor is your SLI cards and BFBC and MoH and CoD are corridor-fucking-shooters, get a better computer. You people annoy me who think they're supposed to run a massive battlefield like some 25m^2 CoD map! argh. I think I was trolled anyway.
