arma 2 OA drama

should my oa pick up arma2 as when i play OA on editer i cant get any oif the units that are in arma 2 any ideas i also now think this is why i cant update arma 2 to .8

Install latest patch 1.08 for ArmA 2

Install OA

Ok i will try that, however even when i have only Arma2 installed it wont let me update to 1.08. It keeps saying Arma 2 is not installed on this computer. The path it is in is the normal one ..... program files , bohi ect ect. this is breaking me. SNAP REP inbound!!!! lololol

Im a PC biff like, but should my OA go into the Arma2 folder and not on its own???

Into the A2 folder of course. Technically, A2 will be loaded as some sort of addon at the end.

Do you have retail versions (DVD) or digital download (Sprocket or Steam). Would be helpful to know.

I have Arma 2 on Sprocket and the retail stand alone of OA i am now re-instaling Arma 2 OA into the Arma 2 folder. Fingers crossed.

I tried the path Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2 and it placed a new Bohemia Interactive file into Arma2 but no Arma 2 on the expansions. I think im being a right douch here but the help is appreciated.

i recomend uninstall/remove arma2 and OA from your pc, then do a new install.

1: arma2

2: OA

3: any dlc if you have

4: patch 1.56

ive tried that about ten times it seems that even when oa is updating with new patches it does not update arma2. ive been looking at a thread about registry dramas but that hasnt helped either. im at a loss.

i believe that the reason my arma keeps crashing is because Arma2 and OA are not comunicating with each other

Install ArmA², do not patch it, then install ArmA²: Operation Arrowhead in the same ArmA² directory. Then run the OA-1.56 patch, it will update ArmA² to 1.08. Likely you've not got OA in the same directory with A².

They don't communicate with one another, ArmA² is a game, ArmA²: Operation Arrowhead is its expansion.

This is how i understood how it should work:

1: Arma 2

2: Run Arma 2 at least once ( I think it's for registry key's )

3: OA

4: dlc

5: Latest patch

once i have installed ArmA 2 then install OA into where. they both go into bohemia, ie Prog files/ boh int/ ARMA2

BEFORE you add OA or any patch after start the game!!!!

Install A2 start the game.

Install OA into A2 start the game

Install patch start the game.

rgr got that but when i try to install it into A2 it makes a new boh int file in the arma 2 file does that make sense???

no it doesnt. what is boh int file?

if it installs a new boh folder, simply install in a folder out, so boh folder overrides old boh folder. you understand that?

when you install oa just click on arma2 folder , thats the one with the arma2.exe in it. then install...

And yeah,like the others said remember to start game and run a mission save then exit when installing arma2, then when installing oa, then when installing dlc´s, then when installing patch.

at least needed for arma2 and oa not sure if rest times is needed.
