The problem with the F-16 type stuff (aka fast jets) is that you couldn't dogfight, you'd be way to fast and the way dogfights work in real life nowdays, they're no fun. I mean sit miles out and shoot missiles at each other. Now, i havent figured how to work this into the correct West/East setting, but the resistance could easily get thier hands on some nice WWII planes, you know, 5 guns on the wings, nice for strafing/dogfighting. These kinda things you could actually use in a small scale battle, about the same as you can use HELOs.

Even if they couldn't penetrate tanks, they can still pin (sorry, wargaming language). If yer getting shot, even if yer not getting hurt, yer still rattled, i mean guys hit the deck, tanks might take evasive action, etc

Yeah, a few guys suggested this a few months ago (I was one of them ), but it seems that WWII planes are VERY valuable today, and cost tons of money to keep in top shape, etc., so the Resistance probably wouldnt have them.

I think a crop duster that sprays napalm would rule though

today, ya, hard to find, but what about back 15ish years ago. The russians mass produced Yaks and stuff, you could find a hanger of em, salvage one or two and fly em with parts from the others, no?

Uhm, no it wouldn't be. Flashpoint's flight engine is the worst I've seen. While good at adding diversity to this infantry sim, it's terrible at succeeding by itself.

You may purchase Flight Simulator 2002 by Microsoft or wait for Combat Flight Simulator 3 to experience far more realistic air battles.

Gimbal's Plane Mod is excellent for this type of dogfighting, with Skyhawks and F-411's.

AdvocateXXX is right that the flying in of sucks. Still, some good planes would be nice. What i think fun too for resistance are sort of self-built ww1 planes you know. Easy to build, slow, manouvrable, perfect for resistance troops (well, not perfect, but it would give the game something original )

i just plugged in my old joystick and got it to work.

alright, well you know how u couldn't loop with a mouse, well now i can do real a-10 attack rolls.

problem is with the hawk if i use the joystick i turn a little and i spin out.

thus, with gimbals, su-25s, and A-10s the joystick rules.

but with choppers and interceptors the joystick sucks.

I hope the people who say flying in ofp sucks arent using mouses. The A10 and SU25 are probably simplfied for retards with mouses so someone just change some characteristics and make a new aircraft for joystick flying and set the view distance high. Just using a joystick and changing the view distance makes flying alot better trust me.

Just because its old and crappy dosent mean it is good resistance weaponry... i mean it would be stupid to use a ww1 plane against shilkas, you would be cherry pie all across everon if you tried that. Resistance are just freedom fighters who use capured equipment they are not a 3rd army that uses ww1 bi planes, and other ww1 and 2 equipment.

I just wish I could see out of the A-10 cockpit, especially now that I've flown the Hawk (excellent visibilty compared to the A-10). I am constantly about to crash it, and I don't fare any better in 3rd person view. Plus, it would be nice if the rudders worked... I can't stand bank-turning to strafe something. Oh well, just another thing for the wish-list

It's just that I love ww1 planes.

I guess it's better to have a whole new mod or something for ofp if you want ww1 planes, like invasion1944, but then for ww1.

Yes there will be more planes in resistance it said so in a interview that there will be a civilian chopper!
