Using Chernarus in Operation Arrowhead

Recommended Posts

Hopefully this is the right section.

So, I decided to pick up ArmA 2 having been a big fan of the series, and decided on OA, figuring it was the latest updated and most stable. As I expected it lived up to the hype and I like it best out of the series so far. On to the question:

I did love the eastern-Europe settings of the previous games, and OA is quite devoid of that. My mate bought a copy of ArmA 2, and I was wondering if it was possible to port over Chernarus and/or Utes to OA without too much trouble. If it is possible, which files would I need to copy over? And would it be simplest to use a standard mod folder setup or would it be more in depth? Also, which patch should each version be up to to be compatible, or does it matter?

And, of course, if this is too close to the 'piracy' line, please do tell me to pack up and get the fook out of your boards.

To elaborate, the 'legal' method to have arma 2 content in oa is to install arma 2 then install oa as an expansion, rather than standalone.

Righto, I figured I might have to shell out for a copy of ArmA 2. Spose I'll get round to that sometime after I finish OA then. Thanks for the prompt replies!

I have the same question, except I bought both ArmA 2 and Operation Arrowhead from Steam (Combined Operations), and I didn't get any option to "install oa as an expansion". The only maps I have available in OA are the default desert ones - no Chernarus. I would also like to have all of the regular ArmA 2 weapons/vehicles available in OA if possible.

Right click the game on steam and run as combined ops. Or ask for your money back and get the game from sprocket, Its unfortunate that you've already got the game from steam as most if not all will always recommend against buying from steam....

Thank you SOOOO much. I knew they're had to be a way to play Chernarus with the Operation Arrowhead content and updates. This is a big help for mission creation and such.
