After montignac

Sweet mother of everything that is holy I cannnot defeat this mission for the life of me......

I've tried everything, sneaking, gunning, even stealing an RPG and blowing up the damn BMP, EVERYTHING gets me killed. If I manage to sneak by the patrols and the BMB, the friggin Hind gets me........how the hell do I hide from THAT? The one time I got to the jeep and got into it I got shot 3 seconds later.........

I've been stuck on this mission for a week now......

I'm in deep shit on this one too

No matter what I do, I keep getting shot. I can't even get out of the woods alive...

If I try to take out the guys coming after me in the beginning, somebody gets me. If I run to the dead guys in the outskirts of the woods, my followers catch up and kill me. So I decided to just run for it. I came to the NE corner of the woods. But I can't get up that little hill to get to the jeep. I always have a close encounter with lots of led...

I've tried just running. That of course didn't work. Tried crawling. Shot. Zig-zag. you are dead...

Think I'm gonna try exiting on the northside of the woods now... But there's ruskies all over the place so I really don't know how to beat this sad.gif

I've read lots of stuff about this mission, but nothing helps. goto xx, get into UAZ, drive like **** doesn't help me mad.gif

Seems like you just have to be frelling lucky to get through this mission, and I'm not...

If this is the mission I think it is, it's the one where you're alone in the woods and the rest of your squad has been killed? I had trouble with this one as well, and it was a friend of mine who figured out a plan in about two tries that solved it for me.

When you start the mission, head to your left (east) through the woods. You'll come out along it's SE border, at the base of a hill. On top of the hill is a BMP. Stay low for a couple of minutes, and you'll see a patrol head NE up the hill. I think they're going to load up in the BMP, but I never stayed around long enough to find out. As soon as they're past you and well up the hill, head eastish to some bushes. Follow the bushes and such as best you can across the road - still heading east. Once across the road, head SE across a nice big open field. Eventually you'll come to some woods. Somewhere in all of this, your extraction point is going to move. By heading south and west, you'll cross the first set of woods, and skip through a slightly less wooded gap into another forest (crossing a dirt road in the process.)

Continuing through this forest will take you to the new extraction point and an interesting little plot twist. Don't freak out, it'll be okay. By the way, take notice of your surroundings during your trip. You'll get to see it again in a spec ops mission. wink.gif

This mission is very simple (you can finish it in 10 min.).

You must go through forrest (ne direction - i think that is right) to ocuppied (red) zone (when you are in right place Armstrong will say something). Wait until you will here about end evac zone (approxim. 5 min.) and go to the building (near BMP - watch out!wink.gif. There are two cars. Take one of two (better civilian, he is faster), and go...

Thats all. Of course BMP might destroy your car but he do it rarely.

In my experience, this mission is a lot harder with the patches than it was when I first played (with version 1.00). I'm on this mission now in my current play through the campaign and I'm finding it really hard. This is from a person that's been playing Flashpoint for months and months...

I played it also in v1.00 and in all other versions. I was able to finish it even in veteran mode. I finished the mission on foot. The hardest moments are the first seconds in the first forest. After that it gets a little easier in my opinion.

You know, one of these days I'm going to count how many times "how do I get past After Montignac" has been posted...it HAS to be the most posted topic on this forum ever.

Even thought I thought most players knew this by now, I will repeat what I have said many times before:

You can hide in bushes. The enemies do not spot you when you drag your butt into a bush. You can even kill off a whole company if you like, from a bush.

Am not sure whether one of the latest patches has done anything with this.

But anyway, running is not always the solution. Sometimes it is better to stop, turn around, get down, aim, breathe and fire single shot or bursts. If you use burst, aim at their feet as the barrel will climb quite a bit, like i.r.l.

I too had a hard time with that mission, to be honest..

Sorry for bumping this back up top, but i wondered if noone has figured out that this is the only point in the origional campain where it goes Dynamic (many possibiliters) from Static(1 possible outcome). I knew we found this out a loooong time ago, pre 1.20, but it seems like it has faded into the past. If, instead of taking Montignac, you fire up flares, and you get your arse royally kicked, You instead retreat, En route to the retreat, you go investigate "activity" at a barn nearby. Basically, its the same scenario, whole squad dies, get to evac, etc. But, i like this one more, cause its a teeny bit easier, and has a mini-cutscene in it, where Armstrong pulls the "all alone, theye all dead, i want my mommy" routine.

Its called "Strange Meeting"

He would'nt be able to wake it up if it was dead, it was merely sleeping I guess.   wink.gif

Is there a way, after finishing the whole campaing, to type a code and make ALL missions appear?

I've played and passed the "After Montignac" one but I would love to try the "Strange Meeting" as well... tounge.gif

Did as BS87 said and played the "Strange Meeting"...

I found it amazing and, frankly, more difficult than the "After Montignac" one... and it's hell longer too...

There is a great outdoors battle between two forests with a nasty surprise by the enemy, then a running in the forest as in "After Montignac", and finally a scouting and running-for-your-life finishing...

Awesome mission, thanx... I suggest everyone use "LShift - Campaign" to activate the mission... it's super!!

ALso, the way i do it without cheats, is to take the flares you get in the m203, and right when you start to assault, fire every damn flare you have. It seems that it helps the russians see the squads. They proceed to whip your butt unless your really good. After this, you fall back and hte next mission is "Strange Meeting"
