The most "realistic" gun sound would change according to the surroundings and the distance from the fired gun. The latest FFUR mod simulated this to some degree. The guns would sound different in CQB environments. But apart from that, there are really no "realistic" gun sound mods for OFP.

Faguss is right, guns are pretty loud. I've shot some myself and can say that the sound in that STALKER video is pretty good. But it's definitely nothing like in Incubus' video, that's just what they use in movies.

A realistic gunsound need to be played at 110 Dezibel and make your ears ring. This is the major cause why i hessitate so often to pull the trigger...its not recoil, its the noise, and it is unbearable in a closed room or near a wall. To recognize diffent types of gunsounds you have to be 100m far away and in general the same cartridge makes the same sound out of a comparable barrel. Every weapon making a distinct sound is a typical game feature. In RL you won't hear a difference beetween a M16 or a SCAR or a G36. Edited November 4, 2010 by Ulanthorn

yes true it was joke only...

im used in '80s in Hungarian Peoples Army AK47 but only 2-3 times for practice.

this weapon (AMD-65, shorted version of AMD-63) was ours in that times but the sound is very similar like AK-47 coz its based on that and use same sized bullets of course.
