RazorX 10 Posted September 16, 2010 (edited) I have ArmA2 and bought Arma2 OA lately (Polish version, originally patched to 1.52). Installed OA on ArmA2. When I start the game via the shortcut on dekstop or directly by arma2oa.exe, the game loads about 5 minutes to the main menu! The splash screens are animating at around 0.1 FPS. The game is unplayable (difficulty even in choosing options in main menu). The CPU load is stuck on 100%. What is strange, that when I open the OA's cd-menu and choose "play", the game works perfectly. The game also works when i run only ArmA2.exe. The same bug appears when I patched the game to v. 1.54. Tried reinstalling OA, both... nothing helps. What's going on? no use for a name 0 Posted September 17, 2010 Only thing I can think of is make sure you have admin rights for the .exe

ast65 10 Posted September 17, 2010 Seems your shortcut is messed up somehow. Try installing latest beta patch and use the shortcut that comes with it.
RazorX 10 Posted September 17, 2010 (edited) Beta patch solved the problem. Something is f***ed up with the default .exe IMO Edited September 19, 2010 by RazorX
RazorX 10 Posted November 18, 2010 Patched to 1.55 Still can't play when launching via arma2oa.exe, everything works fine when launching arma2.exe CPU load hangs up on 100%, both cores
Defunkt 431 Posted November 18, 2010 Must be your DVD sub-system, arma2oa.exe still has a DVD check (but the betas for it don't) while arma2.exe had this check removed some time ago.

RazorX 10 Posted November 19, 2010 But seriously, doesn't it seem a bit archaic to insert the DVD every time? I know it's just to make illegal copies owners' lifes more screwed, however I don't think it's too healthy for the DVD itself too.
avengerzx 10 Posted November 19, 2010 Try disabling any Anti Virus Programmes or Allow arma2oa.exe from your firewall. ---------- Post added at 05:47 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:46 PM ---------- Those DVD Backup copies can be made as stated in the SecuROM Support page. I wonder if BIS could remove the disc check by next patch.

I know it's just to make illegal copies owners' lifes more screwed, however I don't think it's too healthy for the DVD itself too. I'm not sure if the Polish version has the option, but the US copy allows you to do an online verification, where afterward you no longer need the DVD in to play. Worst case scenario you could also try using the beta patches since those remove the DVD check as stated before.
