Arma 2 CO 1.54 low performance issue

Hello.

OK so basically everyone on this forum should know that BIS games are very bad optimized. :mad:

My computer:

Phenom II 940 BE

Radeon 4890 OC 1 GB (newest driver)

DDR2 4 GB DC

MB: Biostar TA790GX 128M

500 GB HDD SATA2 AHCI Samsung HD502HI

Windows 7 x64 (clean system)

My FPS: ~10-20 no matter what video settings :391:

I struggle with this problem since Arma 2. :(

Hopefully someone from Bohemia Interactive could help me with this? :confused:

Have you tried to disable your SOUND ENHANCEMENT features?

When I switched off bass, EAX sound my FPS increased by 20.

EAX isn´t supported by ArmA2 engine, so this should be turned off in your soundcard settings definitely, but 20 fps?! :eek:

It is quite simple, your setup must be wrong.

I would have thought with your system the game would run reasonable well on medium settings, lets say 30fps.

Perhaps if you run the inbuilt missions that measure fps, someone can help.

benchmark 2 is not representative for overall gaming experience.

test performance in single missions or multiplayer

and btw you can play ArmA2 very well with 30 fps if the overall feeling is smooth.

I just played this mission: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=107945. My FPS was under 20 all the time. In few other missions my FPS is significantly better, but I can't play in most of my missions because of very high lag :mad:. It is very strange. :confused:

Maybe you have problem because you use EcoGreen HDD which mean that HDD spin on 5400rpm only.
